I wonder why he didn't just leave the deer on the other side of the road where he first coaxed him? Maybe there was more open land on the other side or something, and he thought he stood a better chance on the other side? Weird...

Poor thing....too scared to move.....I have witnessed the freezing that these animals do...they stand SO still, they almost look like decoys.....The officer probably saw the rest of the family on the other side of the road and thought it best if he didn't try to cross the road again....

When it wasn't moving, I thought maybe someone had put a fake deer there as a joke. That was strange.

Poor little creature! I've never seen a deer stand that still when someone was approaching it. And that officer didn't approach the deer slowly - he walked right over to the deer as if he was walking up to someone he knew.

I tought just the same! The poor thing was so sacred that he seemed almost freezed. I wonder how it didn't die from a heart attack...It's quite usual.
