The Bonanza Connection Empty
PostSubject: The Bonanza Connection   The Bonanza Connection EmptySat May 19, 2007 7:48 pm

Well, I thought I knew all there was to know about LHotP, only to learn something new...in fact, almost shocking to me.

I never knew that Michael Landon recycled a number of Bonanza sripts and used them for LH episodes! OhMy

Here's a few I just discovered........did anyone else know this??? Bonanza was before my time and I never watched it, so it's all news to me.

Bonanza, Season 11:

Episode 347, "It's a Small World", became "Little Lou" about bias against Little People

Episode 361, "A Matter of Circumstance" became "A Matter of Faith" about Caroline almost cutting off her leg

Check out the epie descriptions at:
http://bonanza1.com/guide/season11.html

Bonanza, Season 12:

Episode 385, "The Stillness Within" has very close similarities to "I'll Be Waving As You Drive Away" (Little Joe goes blind and is taught by a blind teacher from an institute for the blind and he doesn't know she can't see either)

http://bonanza1.com/guide/season12.html

Bonanza, Season 13:

Episode 311, "He was Only Seven" was very similar to "He Was Only 12",

Episode 412, "The Younger Brother's Younger Brother" became "The Older Brothers"

http://bonanza1.com/guide/season13.html

Bonanza, Season 14:

Episode 425, "The Sound of Sadness" became "The Silent Cry" where Houston tries to adopt to young boys from the orphanage

Yes, there are a lot of Bonanza episodes that were recycled into LHOTP episodes.  The one where the drunk rancher is selling horses to Charles and ignored his family because of an accident involving his son is also recycled........If you can ever catch Bonanza on tv, make sure you watch it, I think you will enjoy it a lot! Thumbsup

You're right Ronda...I forgot to mention that from Season 9 of Bonanza, episode 295, "A Dream to Dream" became "Someone Please Love Me"...same exact story line!

I will definitely have to start looking out for Bonanza now on TV Land! I think ML looks exceptionally cute with short hair :)

Also Silent Thunder (Bonanza) is very similair to Silent Promise (LHOTP). It's about learning a deaf person sign language. And yes I agree with Rhonda, I highly recommend watching Bonanza :woohooo:
