Every summer I have my neice for about a week and we plan a fun week together. We go swimming, catch a movie, shop, and just hang out at the mall and people watch. I like that the best...there are some funny looking people out there! I have kept a journal of everything we do so she will someday have it to remember our time together. She will be 14 this October and i know our summers together are not going to last much longer, but I so hope we've done some fun stuff that will last in her heart.
Our extended families are such a gift!

Melissa, here's another neat thing to do when a baby is born. Buy a newspaper from that day, and give it to here when she's older. I did that for my nephew, and he was fascinated to see what was going on in the world the day he was born.

I actually have the newspaper from the day I was born. My Dad ran out and bought one...it was Friday the 13th so that made it special in another way too.
