OMG, Reese's! That is dangerous for sure (but then again, ANY chocolate around me is dangerous!). My biggest weakness is the candy corn though. I can't believe I didn't get to have any this year! That and the Tootsie Rolls!

Debbie!
And nope Julie, candy corn and tootsie rolls are pretty safe around me. (oh, but you can have LOTS of Tootsie rolls...I remember reading somewhere that those are not 'that bad' at all. (well, not in comparison to Reeses anyway. ).

Harry Burnett "H. B." Reese (May 24, 1879 – May 16, 1956) was an American inventor known for creating Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and founding the H. B. Reese Candy Company. He was born in York County, Pennsylvania, on an agricultural and dairy farm. He married Blanche Edna (Hyson) Reese on August 1, 1900. By 1928, H. B. and Blanche had sixteen good reasons (children) to invent the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
He first moved to Hershey, Pennsylvania, in 1917, where he enjoyed a relatively prosperous job on a dairy farm owned by the Hershey Company until the farm was closed by Hershey's.Not long after moving his family to Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, Reese moved back to Hershey, again working for Hershey's. Always an entrepreneur and inspired by his work, Reese began experimenting with candies in his basement, by 1923 he created the H. B. Reese Candy Company. He built a new home and factory for his growing business in 1926, selling a large assortment of candies. Then in 1928, H. B. Reese invented the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. H.B. Reese initially sold his many candies on consignment to retail stores, but by 1935 he was a success and was able to burn all his mortgages
During World War II, economic constraints and scarcity of materials led him to discontinue his other candies and concentrate solely on his peanut butter cups, his most popular offering.

Really? Tootsie Rolls aren't that bad? That's good to know! Maybe I should get some.

I'm not sure how many we had this year. We have had over 300 in the past. But this year and last, Gary had to work so I put out a bucket of candy so I could go with Erin. Last year was no problem. The bucket was empty as I suspected it would be. This year someone stole the bucket! I'm sure they got at least 200 pixy stix along with it. My mistake was putting it up by the front door which is somewhat hidden instead of in the driveway, but it had rained a little and I didn't want the candy to get wet in case it started raining again. Someone smashed our jack-o-lantern too. So I was not too happy this year.

I was about to say the same thing, Krissy. Wow, Lori. That's pretty bad.
And, I know we have a 'confessions' thread somewhere, but I might as well just post it here. I just ate a Reeses peanut butter cup. (or two. ).

I went to the grocery store today and they removed the Halloween candy section and replaced it with Christmas. I found some Reese's Christmas trees.

Oh Debbie, you would have to tell me that. And somehow the pumpkins and trees just taste better, don't they?

I love Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Caramello candy bars, Reese's cups, chewy sprees and chewy sweetarts are my favorite candy.

I'm pretty sure the eggs, pumpkins & trees are better than regular cups. I think they have more peanut butter.
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! I sure had a busy one. Last weekend I took Dean to events on Saturday & Sunday. Then on Halloween I took him to an event & out to trick or treat. He had 3 different costumes. Mummy, Jedi & Pirate.
