halloween

I don't celebrate Halloween I got scared seeing those scary mask, when I was little.

I agree. I didn't celebrate Halloween either. But I, for one, always celebrate all Saint's Day and Faithful Death Catholic Church celebrations.

Inserting. I check out Recoleta cemetery on youtube, I love seeing cemeteries in different countries. So, I watch them on youtube. I love cemeteries.

Well, I STARTED off healthy (cereal), but...I couldn't resist. I stole 2 of the Halloween candy I had at home and ate them already: a Snickers, and a Twix! (bite size, but still).

Oh! No worries then.

No worries at all! I enjoyed them (but I have a feeling they won't be the last candy I eat today).

Happy Halloween, to those of us who celebrate it! It's cold and nasty here, so I probably won't be passing out candy this year.

I have a couple of cute craft ideas for the kids....jack-o-lantern faces on clementine oranges (cute!) and we're making owl puppets. Should be fun. I am making Halloween cupcakes and of course there will be some candy involved at some point today!

I don't celebrate Halloween either. If my church has something going on that night, I go to that. I do enjoy watching Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin special though. Sometimes I watch my favorite scary movie that has nothing to do with Halloween. But that's it.

That's funny that you should ask Rob! For the past few years, we haven't been getting many trick or treaters, and one year we only got one! However, the crime here in Miami is getting so bad, that Mom and I are actually afraid of opening the door to trick or treaters...in case it is indeed a TRICK. A dangerous one at that (home invasion?). We still buy candy though; and what we do is we leave the candy in a pumpkin pail on the porch, and we leave a note telling the kids to help themselves (but to leave enough for everyone). We use the "we have the flu" excuse so they won't even think of knocking! I miss seeing the kids dress up...but....for safety reasons, unfortunately we have to do this.

Anyway, we did the same thing last year...and we had a bunch of leftover candy. This year....they didn't leave not ONE candy! I'm not sure how many kids came...but I have the strangest feeling that ONE person emptied out the pail! I couldn't believe it. The funny thing is, Mom said to me "we forgot to save some candy for ourselves" and I told her not to worry...as I'm sure we'll still have plenty. Yeah, right! Not one!

That's one of the nice things about not getting big crowds. I bought one of those 100-piece bags of candy. With 13 trick-or-treaters each getting three or four pieces, that leaves approximately... some for me!

I think this was just God's way of telling me that the candy I had at breakfast time yesterday was more than enough!

Aww, Julie, I'm sorry you didn't get any leftovers. I had bought a little bit, just in case, and then decided not to hand any out last night. Some went to the kids, of course, but having any left in my midst is dangerous! Especially if they're Reese's.

I didn't turn on my porch light last night. I usually enjoy handing out candy, but this year I just wasn't in the mood.

Amy, I'm the same way with the Reese's. We're on our 2nd six pack of Reese's Pumpkins....
