I have some pics from Tombstone that I will put on tomorrow, including the OK Corral.....

Looking forward to it! I'm a bit of an old west history buff.

I spent most of the day in here! Big Nose Kate's Saloon. They have a big screen in there that shows "Tombstone movie" continuously....

This is the courthouse where they held the trial after the OK Corral shootout.....I didn't take this one......but thought it was interesting......

That's me feeding my face......this building was a boarding house when Wyatt Earp was there......converted into a restaurant in the early fifties.........

Very cool, Dave!  Thanks for posting those.  And you're not nearly as bald or fat as Rodney says you are.

Ha!  The Fifeinator may have to go out there and issue a citation for one of the grave markers.  

I was reading about how the violence of the old west was exaggerated by the dime novels, and later, by Hollywood.  It said that, in 1881, the year the three cowboys were killed at the O.K. Corral, the total number of people murdered in Tombstone was... three!  Those were the only ones.

Relatives of the Clantons still live in Tombstone, and to this day, blame the whole thing on the Earps.

That's not all that Hollywood glorified, this is one of the saloon girls yesterday!

Yeah, there was a lot of history and bad blood between the Earps and the Clantons in the months prior to the gunfight.

Not five minutes from my house, is the Tucson Railroad station. Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday gunned down Frank Stillwell there after he murdered Morgan Earp. Afterwards, they went across to the Hotel Congress and had a drink.......

Impressive! I remember the Stillwell killing at the railroad station (well, I remember reading about it).

Yeah, you're not as bad as Rodney says you are.  

Maybe you've heard this story, but in the 1920s, Wyatt Earp worked as an advisor on silent Westerns in Hollywood. That was just about the time that a young John Wayne came to town, and there are those who claim that the Duke knew Wyatt, and that he copied his speech and mannerisms. So maybe the Duke we saw in the movies was an imitation of the real-life Wyatt.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I like seeing old tombstones.

Nice. Very nice. I bought some records at a record fair that was held in Hotel Congress (Tucson) a few months ago. If I'm not mistaken Hotel Congress was also where John Dillinger and his crew were once nabbed in the '20's.

Nice to see you again Joe! Yea, they caught Dillinger there, put him in jail, and he escaped......lots of history in that hotel! Hope you are doing well!

Um...Dave...I suggest you fix something up there before Fife wakes up! lol (hint: *ding/doing?)
