Prayers for my Grandson!

   Wyatt is back down to 6 lbs 5 oz; just one ounce more than his birth weight.  He went back to the doctor today, and he called it, "caloric deficiency"  He is not getting enough calories, and the doctor has upped his formula to another scoop and half. Rachel says he is already having so much trouble with constipation as it is, she can't even imagine what 1 1/2 more scoops of formula will do. They are doing their best to figure out why he is not gaining weight and growing like he should.  

He got blood drawn and is getting an ultrasound on his testes either Monday or Tuesday; since they have not descended and the doctor could not even find them.  He said sometimes it could be a steroid problem, and it might cause a growth issue.  Please, please PLEASE, say a prayer for my sweet baby!  

I will pray for him... I hope he starts to get better soon!

If it makes you feel any better, my Keira was and still is a slow weight gainer. She is perfectly healthy, just skinny. I used to give her a calorie supplement called Duocal. It was a powder and 1 scoop added 27 extra calories I believe.

I'm sure everything will be fine. :)

Wyatt's blood work and scans came back normal. He has gained an ounce and we're hoping for more. He goes back on Friday for follow-up. The doctor thinks he might just be 'pokey' in his eating and growing. So for now, we wait and see what this little booger does. I appreciate all the prayers, and please keep the little guy in your thoughts since he is still so little and fragile.

I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing this Rhonda! Hoping and praying he starts packing on the pounds soon!! He is such a little cutie pie.

Prayer request and another update on Wyatt:

This is Wyatt's Great Grandma Martin, Rachel's Mamaw. She has been in the hospital for a couple of weeks now, and is being released to hospice today. I know Rachel would appreciate prayers of comfort for her in her last days, as she is very close to Mamaw.

Wyatt had his follow-up appt today, and is 6lbs 11oz, and is starting to eat faster, he actually stares at Rachel now as he eats, and he rolled from back to front on Saturday. It's a good start. I appreciate the continued prayers for him that he keeps going in an upward direction with his weight gain.

Please keep my Wyatt in prayer. He went to the doctor with a 101º fever; he has an ear infection. While there, Rachel wanted the doctor to check on other things. He is still in the low percentile as far as weight and height goes, and he doesn't seem to have control over his muscles in his neck. They will be getting an appointment in Little Rock to see a specialist, and we are possibly looking at cerebral palsy. He has had such a time for his 3 1/2 months here and it just breaks our hearts that he will have even more.

Getting a CP diagnosis early could be a blessing. Erin went for 3 years with nothing more than a developmental delay diagnosis which meant insurance wouldn't cover her physical and occupational therapy. After going to a neurologist around 3 years of age, she got the mild CP diagnosis, and from then on therapy was covered. We moved to Michigan when she was 13. Her doctors here weren't convinced she had mild CP, but I'm glad we had the diagnosis when she was little to get the therapy. Do you know if he is tracking? His eyes in the first couple of pictures look a lot like Erin's did. I think she was about 9 months before she tracked, so that is probably something they should keep an eye on. Her lack of tracking never really became a problem later on, but she did see an eye specialist in her first couple of years.

Wyatt will see an eye doctor this Friday....they are trying to get right on this....Thanks Ladies, this is just so much to take in right now....

Oh, Rhonda. I am so sorry to hear this. I'm glad that they are getting things checked out because early intervention can be very important and beneficial. I will keep Wyatt and all of you in my prayers. Thanks for letting us know.

So glad they're getting Wyatt checked in all areas, Rhonda....he'll be in good hands and hopefully you will know something soon! I am sorry you all have to be filled with such worry and anxiety right now. I am praying!!

Yes, it is a lot to take in, Rhonda. I know I cried when we got the diagnosis. In reality it didn't change anything except Erin's therapy was covered. It's probably harder on all of you, though, because he is so little. You don't know how mild or severe it is. Erin was already walking when we got the diagnosis. I'm so glad he is getting help from the start. I think it makes a world of difference. Praying for you all.
