Prayers for my Grandson!

Met Jake and Rachel at the eye doctor. They dilated his little eyes....3 separate times.  Bless his little heart....Eyes checked out good, no problems there. Appointment at Children's Hospital in Little Rock on July 8. Why oh why don't they get in a hurry when checking on these things? Found out yesterday, that not only is Cerebral Palsy on the table, but Muscular Dystrophy....Many prayers still needed. After we got back to the house, and started putting dinner together for everyone, Jake got called to work.  He works for the Army Corps on the Lock and Dams.  With all the flooding, he was needed to help open and close the gates.  SO SCARY!   He called me as he was driving home, and I was on my way home; helped keep me awake and alert for at least an hour on the road.  Loved my snuggling time yesterday and being able to see my kids.....

Thanks for the update, Rhonda....prayers continue for Wyatt! I know this will feel like a very long wait for this July 8th appointment. Try to stay positive and hope for the best. I'm so glad you were able to go and be with everyone!

Wish they would get him in sooner too. So sorry you all are faced with such a scare. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Prayers continue. It is so tough to wait on these things. Hopefully they can move this along and figure out what is happening.

What a handsome little guy Wyatt is I am so sorry your family is going through all of this. I hope time doesn't pass too slowly before your grandson's appointment in July. I'll continue to keep him in my thoughts!

Rachel messaged me today that Wyatt will start physical therapy at the Gregory Kistler Center.  It has been in the area for a long, long time, and have done wonders for children with all kinds of problems.  He still hasn't any diagnosis, but the earlier PT can start, the better.

Rachel bought Wyatt a "Tummy Time Pillow" which seems to help in strengthening his little neck. It has toys attached to the sides, so it makes him have to reach out and use more shoulder movement.  He still hasn't had any PT in, but hope to soon.  Please keep praying for him, it's helping a LOT!

Tummy time is awesome to build up strength! I continue to pray for Wyatt. I hope that he is able to start PT soon.

Wyatt had his PT Evaluation this morning.  Here is what they said, "He has a little bit of torticollis (stiff neck on left side) hypotonic (low muscle tone) in his upper body.. She wants to see him 2x week until he catches up and she gave me exercises to do at home. She's very confident that he's going to catch up soon."  Keep praying, God is listening!

So happy to hear this news Rhonda!! What a relief. I hope the physical therapy helps---I'm sure he'll be 'caught up' in no time!! Go Wyatt!!!

"Wyatt for sure has Prader-Willi Syndrome. We have an appt Sept 17th in Lowell and I'll be able to ask all my questions. I got to ask her some but my mind wasn't clear. So if there is anything you want to know that you can't find on Internet or that I don't know, send them and I'll write it down.

He will be able to live a normal life as long as we control what he eats. He will have some delayed motor skills (obviously, that's why he's in PT), she said to expect some learning disabilities, behavior issues that can range from (mild to severe). She said everyone is different. She said it's good that Wyatt is a good eater right now because a lot of them aren't.

We will see a nutritionist (the whole family) who will teach us, along with many other specialists."

What a handsome little man your grandson is Rhonda! I am sorry to hear about his hospital stay, and as scary as it must be to find out what has been going on, it must also be a relief to have a diagnosis now. I will keep Wyatt and the rest of your family in my thoughts!
