And my favorite Beatles song, "Here, There & Everywhere."
I love this song so much that I could cry every time that I hear it! And this is an incredible version.
I just went to see the symphony yesterday. It was Beatle-themed. The guests were Classical Mystery Tour. Essentially they are a cover band, but the gimmick is that they perform with am orchestra. And it was FANTASTIC!!! I loved it SO MUCH! I was so happy that they performed "The Long and Winding Road" and "Goodnight". Those are the two songs that are heavy with an orchestra. And it sounded so incredibly good! These cover bands always do "Imagine". But I was really thrown off with "Live and Let Die". That sounded so fantastic! I was secretly hoping they would perform something like "Here, There and Everywhere". Alas, no. But they did make me very happy with the very unexpected "Martha, My Dear". I'll add the Beatles version into this post just because I do really like it.
Who's going to do the cooking?!?!

Throwback Thursday! I heard this one today...had to hear it again. (Side note: I was a teen in the 80's, and as much as I love the 80's music, for some strange reason I love 70's music just a tad bit more...I guess because it reminds me of being a kid). Enjoy!

Yes, I did know that. Of course, you do have the Wings song "Jet". That was always said to be about Paul's Lab, but then he said it was actually about a pony that he'd had. Either way, those lyrics don't make any sense connected to either one of those things!
But here is a good solo song of Paul's (and I am assuming this is one that you will like, Rob ):
I am just so in love with this song.

Oh, I didn't know that. But it's good to know that the pony was a little lady suffragette.

Good song! You may have heard this one, also by Andrew Gold. A minor hit that gained immortality when it was chosen as the theme song of The Golden Girls.

Yes, I do remember that one, Rob! I remember this one even before I heard it on 'Golden Girls!'

Good song, Mimi!
Throwback Thursday! "Bluer Than Blue" by Michael Johnson. The line "You're the only light this empty room has ever had" always gets me.

Eighties rewind. James Taylor's "Never Die Young." I always heard this as a song about the astronauts who died in the Challenger explosion.
I guess it had to happen someday soon, wasn't nothing to hold them down. They would rise from among us like a big balloon, take the sky and forsake the ground. Oh yes, other hearts were broken, yeah, other dreams ran dry. But our golden ones sail on, sail on, to another land beneath another sky.

Of all the songs about cannibalism, "Timothy" by the Buoys, in 1971, was the best. I remember that this was incredibly hard to dance to.
Oh, and it was written by Rupert Holmes, who also wrote "The Pina Colada Song." Trick endings were his specialty.

One Great Song by Berlin
"Albert, do you REALLY think you are old enough to know what love is?" "I must be Pa. I love you, I have for a long time."
