I'm going to see Carrie Underwood tomorrow night in concert, with Josh Turner. I've been looking forward to it for awhile, I'm hoping the weather cooperates so we can get there, since we have a bit of a drive. LOL, I told Mike I don't care if we get stranded and have to sleep in the car in the parking lot, as long as we actually make it there to see the show.

"I Know" by Barbara George
One of my favorite songs. I also LOVE the video (which is from the 1987 movie Salsa - one I used to watch almost every week to try and learn how to dance :P ) because, NO kidding, this is how some of the parties were that we used to have in L.A. lol The adults would go crazy with dancing Salsa, us kids would dance some... but mostly we would be running around or getting into some sort of trouble... haha! They were sooo much fun.

One of my favorites... Paula Abdul's "Rush Rush" Paula & Keanu look great in this video
I remember this song was popular when I graduated from Jr. High. After graduation my family and I went to eat (this was around 9PM) and this song was playing on the radio.... and I was on cloud 9 for having graduated Junior High and getting the outfit I wanted.

Back in 2003 for Christmas, I found two songs that I dedicated to my dad and to David's late dad. My sister, sis-in-law & I sang them.
For my dad, Richard Zowie, "Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn
For my late father- in-law, Henry Clifton, "My Father In Me" by Paul Overstreet (I wanted the original video that showed fathers/sons but I couldn't find it on YouTube! If I run across it later, I'll post it!)

"Everybody's Changing" by Keane
The song isn't just about being left behind while everyone else moves on (an explanation to the song on one of Keane's websites, I think) but is also about daring to be yourself despite the changes around you. The song is supposed to be inspirational as well as sad, I think (which just adds to the beauty of it). (Quote from KeenonKeane at SongMeanings)

"The Way You Look Tonight" is perhaps the most romantic song of all time IMHO. I love it best sung very slow, like this version from Rod Stewart. (Sinatra's version is more upbeat and I think it loses some of the romanticism that way).
And here it is from My Best Friend's Wedding, sung by Dermot Mulrooney...I actually think he sings it better than anyone, and would have loved to have heard it fully recorded!
BTW, I have Rod Stewart's "Great American Songbook" CD, and it has to be the best CD of all time. TONS of classics and he is just remarkable on it. Highly recommend it even if you're not a big 'Rod' fan---I've never been, but I was told about the CD, tried it, and I now officially AM a fan!
Carol, I've never heard of Keane, but that is a very catchy tune and I like his voice!

I LOVE May It Be!!
These are my favorite songs, although I have about ten thousand. Let me just try to narrow it down.
Send Me On My Way by Rusted Root (this has to be the happiest song in the world) Wake Up by Arcade Fire Memory from the musical Cats It Ends Tonight by All American Rejects
..and loads others.
I remember the time I knew what happiness was...let the memory live again.

LOVE this song!!! Nothing but human voice, INCREDIBLE!!! Probably my favorite song of all time!
Here's one for Savannah - Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, the slow movement. I think it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. This is the great American pianist Van Cliburn with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra in 1962.
I can't believe that I never saw this when you posted it originally, Rob! My deepest apologies! (Five. Years. Later. ) Ah, Beethoven...my first love, musically speaking. Thank you for the lovely song! I'm going to go to sleep with this beautiful piece of music in my mind.
