| I liked this episode, especially when Nellie fell in the water! I think Laura and Charles did a good thing by becoming friends with Olga and I was happy when Charles made the lift to put on the bottom of Olga's shoe so she could run and play with the other children | |

| This is another classic episode! I love the parties and I think the writers did a really good job of capturing the feelings of these chapters from the book- even if they did add Olga!
I was always a bit disappointed that Nellie didn't come out of the creek with the leeches on her. That would have been awesome!
The expressions on the girls's faces when they go into the Oleson's house are really good. I think that it was really good that we'd never seen the Oleson's house before this. I thin that it was a nice effect to the scene.

| this was a nice one .....showed how nasty and calculating young Nellie could be....i laughed though when she said goodbye and thankyou to Ma an Pa ...doing her cutsey all bedraggled from her pond dip. Laura's portrayal of anger at the pond was brillant for a young actor |

| I liked this episode, especially when Nellie fell in the creek! I liked it when Charles did not listen to Olga's father and he made the special shoe so Olga could run and play with the other children |

That was the best part! I always enjoy seeing Nellie get what she deserves. I didn't like Olga's dad. Remember when Olga mentioned Laura and he scoffs something about "one friend." So what's wrong with having one friend? Isn't it better than none? I'm glad he finally came around after Charles fixed her shoe. |

Agreed. I just watched this last night. Olga's father always bothered me. I can kind of understand that he might have this fear that his daughter won't be treated properly (for lack of a better word) because she has her physical impairment, but at the same time, I think he is terribly childish. He just really irritates me. At least he comes around in the end. But did he really have to fight Pa? I understand being mad at the fact that he still made that shoe behind his back. But was it worth a physical fight? Childish! I always loved Nellie's curtsy. I don't understand how Hallmark edits things. After Laura makes mention of the fact that Willie's toys are Noah's Ark, doesn't he say something about them being his toys? If I am wrong about that, I know he still makes some comment. It wasn't in the episode yesterday. Also, after they all go to the creek, Olga is left alone. Then she runs around the bases by herself. They cut that out, too. OK. If Hallmark has to edit these shows for limited time, OK. But how would those few seconds affect their time? Of course, people could argue with me that those few seconds don't matter that much at all. Maybe they don't, but I KNOW they are in the show and now they aren't. I do think the shot of Olga running the bases alone is a good one, though, that should be left in there. Who's going to do the cooking?!?!

| Yes, Hallmark hacks things up pretty badly -- just to get more commercials in. Sometimes they leave out important plot developments. For example, in The Lord Is My Shepherd, they cut out the scene where Laura's cross floats away while she's washing in the river. | |

| Yes. Willie saids something over the lines that Nellie "his dear sister" had lost one of her animals. I think it was a giraffe, but I'm not very sure.

See. I just don't get why they do it. Like I said, OK.....if they HAVE to. But still, it is just a few seconds. They could keep some of those scenes in there (I am sure there are more unimportant shots that they could cut out instead). Of course, if someone is watching these episodes for the first time, they will never know about the deleted scenes. So that won't matter to them at all. I don't know. Maybe I am really nit-picky (or crazy!), but it does bother me. - Vanesa wrote:

Vanesa. Yes. I remember that now. Thanks. I just couldn't remember exactly what it was that he said.

YES! He says something like "It ISN'T Noah's ark! It's MY ark!!" ....What a shame that that part was cut out! It's classic Willie!! That's correct! It's not cut out on our DVD set...

| They cut scenes to make more room for commercials. Seems like they could find moments that are less necessary, though. Like....a scene of someone walking, or something like that. | |

Yes, I remember because I thought that was one of Willie's funniest lines. Now that I have really been watching these on Hallmark, they are really kind of frustrating. It isn't even just the little bits here and there that they cut out. It is also the sometimes the odd scene where they add a commercial break. Then they edit the scenes (going from one to the other) kind of weird. Again, maybe if a person hasn't watch this show much, or even at all, they won't know. But for me, it is so obvious!
