Okay...I'm snowed in, so I'm afraid that you're stuck with having me around all day. :shy: This is Abbie, the daughter of one of my former piano students. He and his family are going to Tibet as missionaries, and this sketch of Abbie is going to be a Christmas present for them. (I was going to give it to them today at church . . . But, like I said....We're snowed in.) Maybe all of this snow is supposed to be to help them prepare for the region of Tibet where they're going. :Hahaha:

Beautiful! I love how you can capture emotions. It seems like bringing out the light and life in people's eyes would be an incredible challenge for an artist, but you do it every time. Well done! Applause

I am going to look for that book. I have done some sketching too in the past few years, but faces are the hardest for me. Ask Marilyn...I've stuck to wagons and horses. LOL
How long does it take you to do one sketch? Keep up the good work!!

Gin, that's far too generous a title for me, but thank you. It takes about 8-10 hours to sketch one person. Sometimes a little longer.

I'd love to see some of your sketches! I haven't tried horses yet, but they're such gorgeous creatures! The only animals I've drawn are a couple of little dogs for a friend of mine. grinsmiley

And I'm so glad that I finished the portrait! My left hand got hurt tonight - Actually, I thought it was broken. OhMy

But, it's just bruised and swollen...not broken, thankfully. But I'm figuring that I won't be drawing for a couple of days....So, it's a good thing it's done!

This is my nephew, Michael, who reminds me of Tigger: Bouncy, Trouncy, Flouncy, Pouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! He has more energy than I could possibly know what to do with, and a sharp, quick sense of humor. He brings so much joy to my life! Anyway...Here's my attempt at drawing Mikey:
