| What a beautiful drawing, Savannah. Maurice looks very precious. I like how you called him their "fur child." | |

Thank you. I've always liked the term "fur child". I had thought about writing a story about an older couple who adopted a fur child, but I never got it written....It's still in my head, though! Maybe I'll get it written one of these days. - Rob wrote:

Thank you, Rob! I love the little smile he seems to have on his face. Makes me wonder what he's dreaming about. - Amy wrote:
- I know, I LOVE that shade of blue...it's so---saturated? Is that the word in the 'art world'? I don't know, but it's amAzing. Great pic Savannah---I can imagine the family is thrilled to have this beautiful tribute to their 'fur child'.
Ah, thank you, Amy! It took several shades of blue blended together to get that shade....I'd love a blouse in that color. - pamh36 wrote:

| That is very well done. White can be a challenge to work with in a drawing. I'm sure they will treasure that forever. He was a lucky kitty!
Most white cats with blue eyes are deaf. I babysat for a lady that had one named Pearl. She was very unique....she drank water by dipping her paw in water and licking it off. She had a thing about staying clean and licked her belly till hair wouldn't grow there. Her belly ended up being as soft as velvet. She LOVED to swim around in a bathtub too. Bathtime was what she begged for more than food. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. | A cat who loves to take a bath???!!! My, that's great. One of mine was fond of baths too...He was white with two little golden spots, one on the face, other on the back of his tail. It was a mix of common European cat and a Van cat. Van cats are similar to Persian ones, but they have no pug nose. Van cats (from Turkey), loves to swim and to be wet! Some of them are seeing swimming happily in Van's lake! Vanesa.

| Yes, Pearl was a bit of a challenge. She lived 18 yrs, but she went through a few lives in that time period. She somehow got down in a wall of the house and was lost for two weeks. The family finally heard her and got her out. Her paws were very cut and swollen from trying to climb around. Then she got caught in a truck motor. She was a lucky girl that day, only cutting her leg and side. NEXT, while i was babysitting for the family she spent the night in their attic. I only heard her crying when the baby went down for a nap in the afternoon. That was the only time I actually saw her put her mouth to a bowl of water....she was that thristy. In the end though she passed peacefully in her favorite dark spot in her Mama's closet. I will see if I can find a photo of her. SHe was so beautiful! Thank you, Alex! You should check your library for books by Lee Hammond. I'd never drawn anything till I found one of her books two-and-a-half years ago - and you have a natural ability for drawing. - Vanesa wrote:

Wow!!! I'm going to agree with Rob here. Amazing Savannah! Oh, thank you so much, Carol. I'm looking forward to giving it to my friend, Hannah - but I'm not sure when I'll be able to. It's bigger than the ones I've done before, so I don't have a reinforced mailer to send it in, and I don't want to just mail it in a big envelope. I'd be heartbroken if it was creased or ruined in transit. So she and I will have to get together soon. (And of course, that means that I'll get to hold the baby! Weeeee! )
