Oh, great to know!! I haven't seen that since it first aired. Not a huge fan, but it's worth watching again! Thanks for sharing.

I would be interested to know if anyone has seen this remake, and if so, what you thought about it?

I saw it and loved it....it was very much like the books.....the camera angles got a little bit dizzy, but all in all, it was a great show....

I liked it alot. The camera jumping around later in the movie didn't do anything for me either. BUT, I thought the cast was great. I need to find this one too on Dvd.

I saw some of it on YouTube. It's good but I think every one would agree the 1974 one is the best..

Well, I liked all the LHOTP shows that have been out....this one is the Disney version and it is really good.....they have one called Beyond the Prairie with Richard Thomas (John Boy Walton) as Pa Ingalls and that is also a very good one as well.....I like these two because they stay so close to the books.......Michael Landon did a great job on the TV version, but he took a lot of liberties as well......I like them ALL!

Thanks Dave.... Santa said he would get it for me. I saw him watering his lawn today. Yes, he has a summer home here in Texas. ( He looks awful in a tank top though. shhhhh!)

Even though the series from the 70's is my favorite, I like the Disney one, too. Cameron Bancroft made a good Charles Ingalls. Michael made a good Charles Ingalls and he will always be my favorite actor. He is missed so much.

Even though this mini-series and the Beyond the Prairie movies cover totally different time periods in Laura's life--and therefore can't really be compared--I prefer the mini-series. While BTP stayed closer to the books than LHOP, some of the liberties it did take, disturbed me, and I can't see Richard Thomas as Charles. I don't mind him in other roles, but I didn't care for him in these movies.

I totally agree with Rhonda on this one. My DVD arrived from Amazon last night......Enjoyed it thoroughly........I thought the casting was excellent....... for those of you that haven't seen it, it takes place totally when they first settled on the prairie in Kansas and ends when they are evicted by the soldiers and have to leave. There's Jack nearly drowning in the river crossing, Mr. Edwards giving the cups and candy for Christmas, the Indians showing up, the fire on the prairie, etc. There is also the addition of neighbors that were not seen in the TV series. There is lots of Love in this one! Its a two disc set and I thought it was well worth the $9.99 from Amazon and well worth the watch.....Duration: 255 Minutes, Released in 2005 - Shot in Alberta, Canada - Beautiful Scenery.
Cameron Bancroft Charles Ingalls
Erin Cottrell Caroline Ingalls
Kyle Chavarria Laura Ingalls
Danielle Chuchran Mary Ingalls
Gregory Sporleder Mr. Edwards
Laura and Mary

From the pictures none of the characters look like the ppl.
ML did a good job with geting actors and actresses that looked like them.

I can't say I feel this is true, but I don't know how anyone could cast a girl with blonde hair as Laura. I loved the actress' portrayal, but Laura was so jealous of Mary's hair that it really was odd to see a Laura with blonde hair.

Yes! Laura was so jealous of Mary that she even got spanked by Pa because she stroke Mary for a quarrel they had about this issue...And in the movie "Beyond the Prairie", we have a blond Laura again...and a REDHEAD Mary...

I agree Spanky, I thought it was very well done.........The only thing I missed was Mr. Edwards singing "Old Dan Tucker"......
"Albert, do you REALLY think you are old enough to know what love is?" "I must be Pa. I love you, I have for a long time."
