Glad to hear you know who Suzy is Rob! Yep, I do believe you are right, a victim of a poor timing. She is incredible and deserved more recognition. I guess she really is country, but I she doesn't sound that way on my Christmas CD. I bought the CD at her concert and was out in two music stores today and couldn't find it. I guess maybe it could be ordered on Amazon or Ebay or sth. I never tire of it, I'll tell you that!
Debbie, that song you posted by Celtic Woman is beautiful. I watched the special on PBS the other night...my favorite was O Holy Night. Unreal!!

I remember Suzy well. I bought one of her albums in the early '90s. She had a sweet country voice, and scored a few hits on the charts. But as I understand it, she was a victim of really bad timing. Just as her career was on the rise, she took a few years off to start a family. When she was ready to make a comeback, people like Shania Twain and Faith Hill had gotten huge, and the industry had pretty much forgotten about Suzy. It's a shame.
Rob and Amy I love Susie Boggus too. My favorite is Someday soon and Aces. She definitely is country, I've always wondered what happened to her because I have her one and only album.
Oh and Savannah...
Is the song you hate "The Twelve days of Christmas"?

:shy: Sorry, I didn't see that you'd asked me that. Nope, that isn't the one. I heard the dreaded song today at the store, too, and about keeled over!!
I have a Christmas cd by Judy Collins that I really like, and another (cassette, though) by Twila Paris. Twila's version of O Holy Night is the most beautiful that I've ever heard. Although, I heard Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle) sing it recently, and I was just blown away. He has such an amazing voice!!

Wow. Remind me not to sing that around you. No, it isn't Silent Night. *whispering* That's actually a favorite of mine.

Once I saw a cartoon that showed a little boy in a choir singing at the top of his lungs, "LEON, LEON!" The choirmaster came over and turned his sheet music around... "NOEL, NOEL!"
Is it Jingle Bell Rock?

My goodness Rob---I know a good anger management therapist if you need one.
I am really stuck on this, Savannah---I would have surely thought it was that "Hippopotamus for Christmas" song, but I see you like that one.
Is it the Paul McCartney one "It's Christmastime" or SLT? I know I for one can't stand that song. Star105.7 plays it ALL the time. ARGH. I don't know, I'm just totally annoyed by it.

I'll give you a hint....It's a more modern song. You wouldn't find it in any hymn book.
