Funny episode. I love the expression on Charles Ingalls & Nels Olsen face. When Harriet mentions she's going camping.

This was a funny episode and I liked that Caroline and Harriet and Nels were interacting outside of the store. What Nellie did after Laura helped her was mean, but that was "Nellie".
There were quite a few funny lines and scenes except I felt a little itchy at times. : ) The comedy in LHOP, especially in the beginning, was very good. Later it seemed, more drama and less humor took over.

The look on Charles' face when he learned Mrs.Oleson was going on the campout after all was priceless. Nellie shouldn't have whinned the way she did. Laura saved her life.

I think she knew that and didn't want to feel indebted (or her family) so she turned on her.

Has anyone here read Alison Arngrim's book? She shares...um...rather interesting details about the filming of this particular episode!

Oh, how I love this episode! So hilarious. Whoever cast Katharine MacGregor in the role of Harriet Oleson did such a great job. I do sort of wish that the friendliness between Harriet and Caroline had been able to last, although of course Harriet is so funny as her usual persnickety (and sometimes mean) self. One thing I love about this episode is that you can see that Nels and Harriet do really love one another, in their own way. I was laughing so loud, though, about Nels' facial expressions when Harriet announced to him in bed that she was going on the campout. And then when Charles tells Caroline they forgot something in the barn and he tells Caroline to say he broke his leg! Anything to get out of a camping trip with Harriet Oleson.

It's a funny one all right! And oh boy, Little House without Katharine (and Allison Arngrim) is just unthinkable. Gotta have lots of spice to balance out the sugar.

It would be so sad to have this show without those two (Katharine and Allison). They were both so great in their roles. Really I feel almost every character was perfectly cast.
I also like how Willie decides that Mary is even kind of nice in this episode. I think Willie was so controlled by Nellie and was even probably kind of afraid of her when he was little.
