| This was a sad episode and it seemed Mr. Edward's had a lot of loss's. He lost his first family, wife and daughter, then his son John, then his family with Grace (although he contributed to that) then his girlfriend who was blind, and then Matthew. I wondered when they brought Matthew on the show if at first they thought it was once, then thought of the idea of having him stay with Mr. Edward's, then when they didn't show him again, something must have made them write him off. I didn't realize he was really deaf: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Hall_Kovacs | |

| I am so glad they had the movies after this episode, because it would have been a shame to end the series this way. Just like the last episode of Season 8 left us a bit disappointed, so did the final episode of Season 9. I also wished Mr. Edwards would have found someone to make his life complete, whether that be a wife or an adopted child. | |

| I suppose ML knew that there were movies to be made because this episode would have been a pretty underwhelming and incomplete ending.
I don't really like Mr Montague and wish he'd never arrived, or was at least left out of the movies. | |

| I liked Mr. Montague's character, I thought he added some humor to what could have been a sad episode. It has been a while since I've seen this episode so this is another one I need to go back and watch again. | |

| I watched this episode just a couple of days ago and I agree that it would have been a disappointing end to the series if they hadn't made the TV movies afterwards. I wish Charles and Caroline had come back to visit for the final episode, because they were such an important part of the first 8 seasons of the show. The 9th season just was not the same without them, so I'm glad they were at least a part of the movies after they did not appear in the season 9 finale. | |
