My Jake leaves out Saturday for Guatemala, Part 2. He will be gone for 2 weeks. I think he learned from the last time he was there for 4 weeks, that he should've just gone for 2. He says this is going to be a tough trip. They will be building a school and the area it is in, they can't get any tools or equipment to the job site, gotta walk 1/4 mile with all of their stuff to the job site... they say MRE's are a treat as far as food goes... it's just gonna be miserable.....I ask for prayers while he is gone, still not the best place to be. Thank you all. grouphug

Thank you all for praying! Jake is now home, but while he was gone, he got bug bites and ended up with bacterial infections from them. They put him on Keflex a form of Cephalexin. When he was little, he had an allergic reaction to Ceclor; which is also a form of Cephalexin. He told them he was allergic to Ceclor and yet, they gave him this other form of it. He now has a rash from his ankles to his belly button. They have put him on prednisone to help, but it's got to run the course. I KNOW he has to be so miserable, so please pray this runs the course quickly and he can get back to normal.

Oh no!! That looks awful. I'll be praying it runs its course quickly!!!

I can't remember Rhonda, is Jake actually a civil engineer? This is the field the Nick is going for. (At least at this point in his college career).

Amy, Jake is in what they call, "Structures" which is civil engineering (Structures is the area of CE he is in...Josh is also in CE, in a different area)....I posted the Youtube video above; which shows where they were and what they did. Wow, Rhonda! I can't believe the dr didn't know that was a form of the antibiotic that Jake was allergic to. I had forgotten that your boys were CE's. I just now remembered that Nick is majoring in that, Amy. My husband is a CE.
