Deployment

Oh Rhonda, Im' so sorry. I know you must be scared to death. But Jake certainly sounds more than qualified to handle himself, and he is obviously truly doing what he LOVES to do. Hang in there mama! We're all here for you.

Thanks.....you do realize that there were 4 US soldiers killed this past week by Afghan soldiers that we trained!!! Now is not a good time to be over there.....

Jake posted on his face book that he immediately regrets this decision....seems he just found out yesterday where he was actually going.....I don't know how they can get away with this.....young men and women sign up for Qatar knowing it is a safe (safer) place to go, only to find out they are actually training for Afghanistan....Apparently some of the guys in his unit are completely stupid and haven't a clue what is going on.....one actually lost his weapon and they were in shut down for the night.....can't imagine being around people like that.....

Oh Rhonda, how upsetting. It's understandable they must go where they are needed, but to surprise him like that isn't right. You and the boys continue to be in my prayers.

Jake says the unit he is in is full of idiots and that is something you do not want when you are out in the field......someone who hasn't a clue as to what is going on...As Jake's wife said today while we were talking, "It's not like this is their first rodeo." That is something you would do in basic training and then be fully reprimanded for that stupidity, but when you have been in for a while and getting ready to be deployed, you had better be keeping up with your weapon.....helllllloooooo......

Well, my Jake headed out of the country today.....I can't tell you how worried I am, especially with all the recent shootings in Afghan by soldiers that WE trained.....please pray that they bring our troops home sooner than 2014.

I'm glad to hear he got there safely. Praying that he will safe while he is there.

Jake sent this to me this morning.....he is 8.5 hours difference from me, soon to be 9.5 when the time changes. He is working nights, and was tired, but his day off and trying to stay awake for a little longer.....

So glad he's remembering that his mommy misses him. Prayers continue for his safety.

Hey, I'm not sure if I ever told you that Bill was in the Air Force? Thankfully never in combat though.

He looks awfully good in his uniform. Prayers are still going for he could keep safe and in good health.
