And oh, I know!  Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Pattmore look so different in 'real life'.  Anna looks really different in interviews too.

Well, tomorrow is the big day---I am supposed to be going with my friend to the old theater to see the premiere of Downton Abbey, (being sent for free by PBS) but we are supposed to get snow, too.  I'm not sure that we will be able to make this happen after all.  Her car needs new tires so she's worried about driving in it.    
Hoping we won't get much!! 

Take public transit, call a taxi, get the hubby to drive. You must go!! Hope this works out and you get there somehow.

Thanks for filling her in, Rob.   Yep, the roads were just terrible here....I love Downton and wanted to be part of this (plus this was supposed to be a bday celebration with my friend), but I also love my life a little too much to risk it for this.   I'm really wondering how many people ended up showing up..... I wish I lived just a wee bit closer to the event!

Rob, I'm curious, how much snow did you get up there today? And Lisa what did you end up getting in your area?

We only got a couple inches, Amy.

Oh wow, I thought for sure you'd get more! I'd send you some of ours, but that might upset Lisa.  

I see tonight on PBS there's a movie called Mr. Stink, featuring Downton's Hugh Bonneville.  It's on at 8 PM on our station.






“Mr. Stink” is a charming holiday fable with an added draw for “Downton Abbey” fans: the sight of Hugh Bonneville, the distinguished Earl of Grantham in that series, reduced to an almost unrecognizable state of vagrancy in playing the title character.

Unfortunately is it now available to view in Canada unless you download a VPN and the ABC app.  I have done this but the link is very busy so I have to wait til it frees up a bit.  Did anyone watch it?

I was at my parents' house for Christmas, but remembered the 20/20 special just before it started. I asked if I could watch it, and my brother was watching it too. As soon as they showed the house, he said, "I've been there!" He was there long before Downton Abbey, probably more than 25 years ago on his first trip to England. I thought it was neat that he's been there.

Whoops....I just edited my post...I had thought I'd written about the Christmas episode in the spoiler thread.  Hope I didn't write anything TOO revealing!!  Ugh.

I have finished watching Season 1 of Downton Abbey! I am hooked!   






Now... on to watch Season 2!
