This was so hard to watch---poor kid just minding his own business! But man, what a GREAT cat!! I mean, not only was he heroic, but he was actually already keeping his eye on his boy---he was RIGHT there to serve and protect!! And you know, the first thing I thought was, there's something to be said for having an outdoor cat! I know humane societies preach about the safety of having cats indoors, but had that been the case with this one, I am certain this boy's injuries would have been much worse.
