Ha! Rob!
Talk about tragic. I will never understand 'obsessed fans'...I'm not being insensitive, I just really don't understand. Ok, I sound like Simon--- I'm shutting up now.
I think I vaguely remember her, but it's very vague.

Oh gosh. Yep, I actually remember her. She was one of the people who actually believed she could sing. You know, they get those who can't sing and KNOW it, and just want their 15 minutes, and then those who reallly believe they can sing. She really had artistic talent though...too bad she couldn't have gotten her act together and pursued that part of herself.

Well, my 5 year old AND 2 year old (LOL) were just jamming out to David Cook's new CD that came out today on the way home from Target. We usually get groceries on Tuesday mornings, so it was perfect timing to add it to the cart. LOL!! I've only listened to a couple of songs, but he sounds great. Emily has only heard "Time of My Life" and "Light On," so that's what she wanted to listen to on the way home. She's funny as she tries to sing along. She knows more of the words than I thought. Shane just yells out, "David Cook, David Cook!" Too funny!

Aw, Shane is too cute!! Gee, you teach 'em young, huh Teresa?! :haha: Too funny that Emily knows more words than you do!!! Glad you like it so far! Let us know what you think of the whole album once you get through it. Ahem, something tells me that won't take you too long!

I've listened to most of the songs all the way through, and a couple of them I just listened to the beginning. I think my favorite is Declaration. David sang this song on SNL. I can't get the tune out of my head. It's a really good song. There is a song called Permanent, and I started tearing up right after he started singing. I think it's about his older brother, Adam, who is in remission for brain cancer. It's a nice ballad. The Time of my Life was included as a bonus track on the CD. The songs, Heroes, Come Back to Me, and I Did it for You are also good. I hope his album does well. He's a really great guy.
I just got through reading an article and it said the the song, Permanent, was indeed about his brother. After only doing 2 takes to record the song, he had called his dad and cried for about 10 minutes. He said that that song really "knocked him on his butt" after he was done recording it. It was very emotional for him, as I can imagine.
I just read another article that said that there is a hidden song, "Kiss on the Neck," on the CD. I haven't had time to find it yet, but I'm thinking it's in with the 12th song on the CD, A Daily Anthem. The track says that it's a 15 minute long song. It must be in there with that. A Daily Anthem is also a song about his brother, Adam.

Wow, sounds like a real tear-jerker of an album! Well, actually, what I'm hearing is that you think there's a nice 'balance', and THAT makes a good CD. I am so excited to get this!!! Thanks ofr your 'review', Teresa!

I went out to Target tonight so I picked up David Cook's CD! Can't beat 10 bucks! First off, I'm not crazy about the cover....it's just a little 'blah' to me. But so far I'm loving the songs I've heard and he sounds fantastic. I like Declaration (which is track 1 and I almost never like track 1 of any cd, you know what I mean? LOL!), and "Permanent" had me in tears. Not sure how he got through that one. I'm sure that's one he will probably never perform live; I'd be surprised anyway. Oh, I like the song right after Permanent too. So far I am very impressed!
David A. wasn't on sale, so I'll wait to get his until that's in the $10 range...

I noticed that the song, A Daily AntheM is spelled in this way. Notice how it spells out ADAM, with the capital letters. I was wondering why David capitalized the "M." This is also a song about his older brother.

Aw, that's neat! I haven't had a chance to listen to that one yet...or is that the one I was talking about, coming after Permanent? I'll have to check...
