| I like Willie. He is cute. Nellie was mean to him quite a bit. She made him be mean to Laura when he didn't want to be mean. | |

| Willie grew a lot as an actor, I was surprised how well he did in the last season. I don't think he wanted to try to continue though. | |

| Today while watching Country Girls, I noticed stuff I have never noticed before. The building used for the post office, Dr.Baker's office and the rooms upstairs wasn't completely painted and a red tarp was rolled up by the entrance and side of the Merchantile. I don't have any pictures, but next time someone watches it, they may notice it, too. I have seen the episiode many times and never noticed those things until today. You can see the tarp hanging. | |

So true! Town lookes humbler than it would be in next seasons to come. Vanesa.

| I noticed that both times when Caroline went to the Olesons to sell eggs, Carrie wasn't with her. | |

| They left the little ones behind a few times but I feel they just didn't think anyone would notice, and it might have been they used up their "on air" time or something that day. One day they went to the blind school in Walnut Grove and Caroline said everyone was going that night to tell them something, but you only saw Laura and Albert..Grace and Carrie were MIA. | |

Carrie wanted to go with them when they went to the blind school in the night, but Caroline made her stay home to keep an eye on Grace.

Charles had said they could all go and when Carrie asked about going, Caroline told her to stay home and look after Grace. I agree she way too young to stay home by herself looking after a toddler.

| The early shows were the best to me. They were all so fresh and young and the "darker" shows were not in the picture yet. | |

| I agree the early seasons were great. I esp love this episode Country Girls was one of the first episodes I remember watching. I do also love the Garveys later down the line. I continued to watch off and on after that. I was pretty bummed when I saw "may we make them proud" | |

| Love It! “It was a huge shock when it came and very excited“ This was the duchess of cambridges take on how she felt when William proposed during their official engagement interview with ITN reporter Tom Bradby. There was a real giggle at the end. Cute. | |

| Country Girls, a person would have to have a heart of stone not to like this episode. Laura's recitation at the end was the greatest example of extemporaneous speaking ever! But...it wasn't what the assignment was so Ma made the right call to say while she'll treasure it always, she should show Miss Beadle what was on the paper. Of course, Miss Beadle handeled it with such class. | |

| I love this episode... such a classic one. I love when Charles laughs or smiles... makes me laugh every time. It's contagious. Here are my favorite parts: I love when Laura says "Ma? How long is all this learning going to take?" The Caroline replies "We start learning when we are born, and if we are wise we don't stop until the Lord call us home." Laura looks disappointed and says "That long?" That is so funny! I also love when Caroline has here first encounters with Harriet... especially the second trip she made to the store. Harriet comments that there aren't any brown eggs this time, and Caroline states that the man at Hanson's mill bought them for 3 cents more than she did before. Then Harriet says that maybe they will buy her white eggs too. As Caroline turns to leave, Harriet decides she will buy the brown for the extra 4 cents a dozen! That was great how Caroline thought that up in order to deal with Harriet! The ending was the best part, when Laura reads her "essay". It was a very nice essay about Ma. I love how Miss Beadle handled the fact that she really didn't write an essay... She knew that Laura had done her best, and that she wasn't as far along. So instead, she commented about how much her spelling had improved, and that her penmanship could use a little improvement. Very nice ending! “I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” - Laura Ingalls Wilder | |

| What did the kids say? When Mary & Laura were outside of the school yard. Just before Miss Beadle ring the bell. | |

| I compared this episode to the one chapter in the book "On the Banks of Plum Creek" and they both match quite well!
"Country girls!" ~Nellie Oleson
This was by far one of my favorite episodes. It really explains how Laura and Mary got along in the town and with the kids there. Although, Nellie does remind me of WisteriaMoon. I'm not even going to get started on her. Hehe. ᘔ2023zhanl38♪ᘕ

| I watched this episode on tv tonight and found it amusing because I realized it was really the first time we saw how exasperated Nels was with his wife and children. And it was only the second episode of the series! | |
