What a wonderful job Savannah.......My aunt worked with pastels and she always said the secret was in the shading to get the right depth perception......especially when it comes to the face and clothing..... You have done a wonderful job at your first attempt! Keep it up!

Thank you all! I showed it to Caleb last night, and he knew right away that it was him as a baby. He was pretty excited that I had made a picture of him that was "colored in". grinsmiley

Okay....Trying again. :shy: I posted this earlier, but put up the wrong picture (a not-quite-finished version of the portrait) and ended up taking the post down. Laughing

So this time I'm double checking before I post. (I always proofread so Fife can't ~~take glee in mocking me~~ ticket me....And who do you think was the one who noticed that I took my earlier post down? :Hahaha: I can't get away with anything with him on duty!)

I thought I had already posted this first picture, because I told Jacob in the TPAM game that I would. (Apparently I forgot to do so. Sorry, Jacob!)

This is a portrait of a young woman's late father. He died just a little over a year ago, and she commissioned the portrait to give to her Grandma.

This second picture is of baby Sarah. (I just want to pick her up and give her a big hug!) A missionary friend of mine asked me to do this portrait for a lady in her church. Baby Sarah is the lady's miracle baby, and the portrait is going to be a surprise for her. Monday I'll be mailing it out to Brazil. So cross your fingers that they like it!

Awesome Savannah! I'm too scared to get into oils yet. I'm having problems with matching hair colors right now.
Might have to try a black and white sketch in the one I am doing.
Just have to see.

Well, it's rainy and darkish out, so the lighting wasn't very good for taking pictures - but this is going to be for my SIL (Krista) for Mother's Day. This is my niece, Oliveah, who, by the way, was born on Mother's Day five years ago. Today is her birthday. Thumbsup

So, later today I'll give Krista her Mother's Day present, which I'm really hoping she'll like!
