A few drawings...

I just finished looking through this thread. I was thinking that the first drawings were extremely good and then I came to the last few and those were astoundingly awesome! Wow!

Thank you so much, Amy! You know what's really cool? I was talking to Hannah after I showed her (via e-mail) the portrait, and she told me that she'd been looking at the photo of her dad and the baby, and had thought that some day she'd love to have me do a portrait from it. How awesome is that??

Hi, guys! There's an art contest coming up locally, and I decided to go ahead and enter one of my portraits. All of the proceeds from the contest will go to the American Cancer Society, and I love that aspect of it! Anyway...I need a name for my entry. This isn't a very good shot, but it'll hopefully give you something to work with for ideas. It's Jane Seymour in the movie Somewhere in Time....when she saw her true love walk into the room - and the photographer took her picture. (Yes, I am a hopeless romantic.)

I agree. Savannah caught Jane Seymour spirit and personality in her drawing. I just love it.

Thank you both! She's one of my favorites, too. Now if I could just come up with a name. Maybe I'll just go with the obvious and name it Somewhere in Time.

Thanks!! It was a Goodwill find, actually. I go through Goodwill looking for beautiful frames, and sometimes they'll have the most hideous "art" in them! The workers there must think that I have appalling taste in art.

I'm baaaaaaack. In the weeks after Mom's surgery, I hadn't had a lot of time for drawing - but she's doing better, and I've been able to get back to it more. This one is going to be the central picture in a portrait for my Mom, who is a devoted fan of Lucille Ball. I'm hoping to put a few memorable moments from I Love Lucy around this picture. I love this moment with Lucy & Desi. They look so . . . content and in love.

These are so realistic that they look almost like photographs, only with some additional personality! (I can barely draw stick people.....)
