Today we all went over to see if any of the pictures made it into placing, and all of them did! :faint2: :yayjump: Three of the pictures took first place, and the hawk took second! Of course, it's a small art fair - but I'm still very excited!

Awesome Savannah! You do such good work.
I'm having a hard time finding time to work on mine, but its coming along. I've been using the Aquastics too. They are fun.....
Congrats....keep up the good work, we love to see it.

Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

Almost two weeks ago, I decided that I'd go ahead and enter some of my drawings in another art fair that's close by here. It's quite large, with hundreds of entries every year, and it always brings in artists from all over the area, so I knew that I wouldn't place - but I thought that it would be a good experience, and would give me some ideas of where I could improve, and maybe I could meet a few artists, etc.......The judging was finished over a week ago, but I hadn't had a chance until just a few days ago to actually go and take a look to see who had placed. I went down with my Mom and Dad, and my brother, sister-in-law, and Oliveah....So there were six of us looking and we still had a hard time finding my pictures!! Laughing

(Oliveah was the one to find most of them!) They didn't have all of the divisions grouped together....They had just displayed the paintings and drawings and sculptures where they thought they would look the best. (And probably where they could fit them all the best! LOL) Well, when we did find them, I couldn't possibly have been more shocked....Every picture placed! My oil picture of Caleby took second - and I wasn't the least bit disappointed about that. The painting that took first place was amazing and totally deserved to win. The rest of my drawings took first place - and Barney Fife won a special award from the Historical Society! :faint2: I couldn't believe it when I saw the big ribbon hanging on him! I even checked the ribbon's tag to make sure it was for my drawing, and not the one displayed up above him! Laughing

But it really was for him!

I just brought all of the drawings home today, and am so completely thrilled!! SO......since I couldn't invite all of you to come to the art fair and walk through with me.....Here's a picture of the drawings with their ribbons:

This is the coolest thing ever! Five pictures entered... four first place ribbons, and one second!!! And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that second-place painting of Caleb the first time you ever even tried painting with oils? Not a bad first effort! WOW!!!

I'm so proud of you. And I'm sure there are a lot of people here who are really happy to see that Fife won a special award. Whistle

He was constantly telling people to stand up straight, stop jaywalking, quit littering.....It's amazing how much crime he found to have to take care of. batEyes
