Good grief, why must they make what should be 'simple' things so complicated?!?! I'll continue to pray, and yes---please keep us posted.

Well, good news and bad news on this front. Last night I found out that the three children definitely are going to be moved from the foster home they've been in for the past 14 months. The social worker said that because they couldn't find anyone willing to take all three children, they would be splitting the children up into three different homes. And, because they hadn't been able to get in contact with their birth mother, the children would be picked up by strangers and taken to these homes. mad Blue I was so heartbroken over that last night. I prayed (and cried) until I fell asleep. These three little ones are so close to one another. Because of everything they've been through, they have a very strong bond, and splitting them up would traumatize them! Well, just a short while ago, we got a call, and at the last minute, a foster home was found that would take all three of the children together....and their birth mother was contacted just in time, so they didn't have to be moved by strangers. It's still disappointing that the judge is uprooting these little ones yet again - but at least they're *together*. In a little over three months the decision should be made for where they'll be permanently placed. I hope their lives will be stable soon.

What about the woman they've been with? I thought that she was wanting to keep them with her. Doesn't the judge realize this? I don't get it. If she wants them to live with her, where they've been for over a year, then why can't they stay with her?

She does want to keep them. But the birth mother is now living in Detroit, and she decided that she wants the children to be closer to her. (Even though for 14 months she has barely had any contact with them.) The judge decided that she should have them closer to her. Apparently, so that she can ignore them at a closer distance. mad

That's awful that the judge would put the mother's wants ahead of the children's needs.

Unbelievable. Why do the neglectful parents have more rights than loving foster parents and children? mad

*sigh* I don't know, Cheryl. I was discussing this case with an acquaintance of mine, and they told me, "Birth mothers have a special bond with a child that no other human can possibly have. She should be given every opportunity to get her children back". I have an incredibly strong opinion about that, and was quite happy to share it. batEyes Giving birth does not miraculously turn a lazy, thoughtless, self-centered woman into a Mama. It just doesn't. And the notion that only a biological mother can have that special bond with a child is nonsense. An adoptive mother can have just as close a bond with her child as any birth mother has. And how many times does a child have to suffer abuse or neglect before a court decides that enough chances have been given to the birth parents?? :shy: Okay, I'll step off my soap box before I start really getting riled. I just hate seeing children hurt, and that's exactly what keeps happening to these little ones!

I did get an update about them last night, by the way! They're doing well in a foster home in Detroit, which is very close to their birth mother. She has yet to visit.

I agree with you 100%. Anyone can have kids. But a true mom loves, supports & protects them. Love
