Just an update on Megan.....she was in Missouri from Colorado for the Christmas holidays, I was not able to see her because I had a nasty cold and knew I didn't need to be around her or anyone else....This is her latest update via her Face Book status....Please continue to pray for her, she is such a sweet girl.....


My kidneys are not functioning properly which is probably the cause for the headaches, nose bleeds, intestinal issues and the nausea. I've got toxins that just can't get out of my body.

Bless her heart. Gods hand needs to rest gently on her. Prayers going up Rhonda.

Megan has posted a correction on her Face Book page about her health. I apologize, but I wanted to get prayers going as soon as possible....her update is copied and pasted below....again, thank you for praying for Dear Meagan.




Sorry I posted the wrong organ, it is my liver that isn't working properly or ideally. My enzyme counts are much higher than they should be.

My sister Megan was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon with dehydration as she's been unable to keep much food down for the past two weeks. She had some other, worrisome symptoms, so they went ahead and did an MRI a few weeks early and also xrays, blood tests, CAT scan, etc.

MRI showed two new tumors in her spinal cord, one at the very, very end of the cord where the nerves split off and go their separate ways, and another just a little bit higher. Additionally, the ventricles of her brain are slightly enlarged, so they are concerned that her shunt may not be working properly.

Her team of doctors - neuro-oncologist, radiologist, internal medicine specialist, and I'm not sure who all else - will be meeting to determine a new plan of treatment. No decisions have been made, but when we met with the neuro-oncologist this afternoon, she said this will most likely include additional radiation to the lower portion of her spine, increasing the frequency of her current chemo back to every three weeks (it had been reduced to every six weeks back in Feb when she was doing so well). At this point they aren't sure if they would add any additional chemo as she is already on three and they have to be careful about the drugs not interacting and causing issues.

Right now she will remain in the hospital until she meets three goals:
1) is re-hydrated appropriately
2) they figure out what's causing her nausea/vomiting and get that sorted out
3) they feel comfortable with her mobility and that she will be able to get around without hurting herself.

The doctor said most of her symptoms could be explained by the deyhdration, so the hope is that once she is properly re-hydrated she will be feeling a lot better and will be able to get around better, again. Mom said she is already doing a LOT better today (after being on IV fluids for 24 hours) than she was yesterday.

I know there are lots of decisions to be made in the next few days. Please pray for wisdom and guidance for Megan's doctors as they try to come up with a new treatment plan, for our family as we process this discouraging news, and especially for Megan.

What a bad new, Rhonda...She was doing so well that the news you brooke today, distroyed my heart...prayers are going right to Megan.

This is such sad news. Thanks for letting us know. I'll keep her up in prayer.

Megan is home and has her good and bad moments. She sleeps a lot. See has a doctor appt. Thursday, but have found out that the doctor doesn't think she will be here for that appointment. Continued prayers for Megan and her family are much apprecaited.
