| In case you hadn't heard, the annual Boston Marathon ended in tragedy yesterday. Two exploded bombs resulted in 3 deaths so far and more than 100 injuries. Details are sketchy and the FBI is asking for anyone with information to come forward. You can find some of today's news here: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/04/16/explosion-reported-near-finish-line-boston-marathon-spokesman-says/ I ask you to pray for everyone impacted by this horrible terrorist attack. We were away this weekend in NYC, but caught it on the news. I'll never understand such hatred. | |

| I'm with you Cheryl. How anyone could do this has no regard for human life. Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow. | |

| This was really the only story my local news was reporting on last night (I live in Connecticut) and the only story that Good Morning America was reporting on today. I've read several times now and heard on the news that it was considered a terror attack. I just can't understand why something like this happened, and what America and the people of Boston possibly could have done to deserve an attack like this. My best friend is studying abroad in Australia right now, and even he heard it on the news there within hours of the event. Did anyone else see President Obama's speech last night, which came on around 6pm?
My cousin Mark was running in the Boston Marathon yesterday, and several of my family members were there to see him run. I actually heard about this terrible tragedy from one of my teachers, and my first thought was "Oh my God, is Mark okay." I learned a couple of hours later that he was not even a mile from the finish when the explosions went off, and I'm not even sure if he was able to finish the race. But Thank God he is okay, as are the rest of my family members who were in Boston. I am so relieved that they are all safe, and it is heartbreaking that so many other family's were not that fortunate.

| I am watching the news now... I am praying for the safety of the people in Boston! the entire city is shut down right now to try and prevent the second suspect from leaving the area. the first one was killed overnight, and right now the second is considered armed and dangerous. I also just saw this article on the Yahoo home page, which shows photos of the second suspect leaving the location of the bombs right after they went off: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/boston-marathon-bombing-suspect-two-seen-post-blast-044413005.htmlIf any of our prairie friends live in the Boston area, I am praying for your safety! | |

| I hope the second guy is found soon. Makes you wonder what goes through someone's head to do such a horrible thing. CBS has been on all after noon. | |

| I am scared for the people of the Boston area. One of my cousins (the one who ran the Boston marathon this year) lives in one of the towns that I believe was listed as being on lockdown this morning, and cousins from the other side of my family also live in a Boston suburb, but their town has not been mentioned so far. I've had abc turned on most of the day, and one of the news anchors said that the lockdown could last through the weekend. It is scary to know that no one has any clue where this suspect is! He is so young too, which makes the situation even more sad, I think. | |

| I can't even imagine how scared the people who lives in Boston are. The whole town and towns nearby are on lock down. I agree with Rhonda, other people could be involved besides the two suspects. It's a scary world out there. | |

| You're right, Dave. They carjacked a guy, threw bombs and shot at the cops, killed an MIT officer... clearly the actions of framed men. | |

| a couple of the articles I have read, since this is the story on the front of every newspaper here, seem to suggest that the older brother strongly influenced his younger brother. a lot of what friends of the suspects say agrees with that too. It will be really interesting to here what the younger brother has to say when he starts to communicate. | |

The older brother spent six months overseas being trained to it by Jihadists. The reason is simple and not complicated. They want to kill you! The WHY of it is simple. Hatred for everything this country stands for. The sooner we understand it, the better off we will be. 3200 people wiped out in New York didn't seem to get the message across. I don't know what its going to take for us to understand it. We are so wrapped up in political correctness that I fear we are only seeing the beginning of small deadly attacks. I hope I'm wrong. "Albert, do you REALLY think you are old enough to know what love is?" "I must be Pa. I love you, I have for a long time."

| We have to be more careful, America, unlike countries like Israel, not bordering others, tend to go all out when something happens, and then you can time how long before you hear how this or that was let onto a plane. That rarely happens in other countries.
My daughters were abroad this year and they can attest to the security other places. The cameras helped afterwards but no bags should be allowed, no trash cans...the streets are littered as it is, other marathons have done that.
Nothing will prevent it but you have to stay as sharp as when an attack happens.

I'm glad they took the one guy alive. I bet he's hating life right now..and I'm glad! Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

| I missed that...maybe deep denial or just shock or he is afraid of what others will think. I always feel bad for parents that didn't push their children through example or abuse toward their evil crime, sometimes you don't have control and you live with their sins on your shoulders.
Time will tell what this father knew.
