I read an interesting fact about The Twelve Days of Christmas (A Partridge in a Pear Tree) the other day. The line "Five gold rings" refers to ringneck pheasants, meaning that the first seven gifts are all birds.
I don't know. My favorite version of "O Holy Night" has been this one for years now. No matter how good anyone else is at it, nobody could compare to Michael Ball's version for me. (For some reason there are crackling noises on this video - I really wish people would check their videos before they post them!)
But onto favorites.....
This is my favorite carol:
There is no reason for something to be this good!
My favorite religious song:
As far as I am concerned, this is the ONLY version there is! I wish people would stop playing the Whitney Houston and Johnny Mathis versions. Althought the Ed Ames version is OK, it still is NOT this one!
My favorite non-religious song:
A great duet with Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. It is so bouncy and happy. I just LOVE this song SOOOOO much!!!
Who's going to do the cooking?!?!

I wanted to share this song that someone sent me in an email. So beautiful:
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

on a lighter note.....I love the song: I wanna Hippopotamus for Christmas. Who sings that...anyone know?
It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart

Here you go Gin, but please wait until I have my earplugs in before playing....
Rhonda, I'm with you! I was just telling Lisa when we were together how much I hate this song! (Gin, we finally found something we don't have in common! ). I may not mind it ordinarily but the past few years the Christmas station I listened to played it ALL the time. Now I'm listening to a new Christmas station and have not heard it once this season! (My guess is they hate it too. ).
Good songs, Krissy!

I found this...it's long but really neat! I love David Archuletta. He appears at 5:20 at first, but more in his appropriate range when he comes back in at 6:52.
And I can't forget Handel's Messiah. I have sung Hallelujah Chorus and For Unto Us so many times in various choirs and they never fail to give me goosebumps!
