Let's see........What kind of a hint can I give? . . . . .
It was originally written about 74 years ago. The original I like.....But the terrible, grating, wretched, earsplitting version was recorded a little over 30 years ago, I think.
Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" (sometimes with Coming changed to Comin') is a Christmas song. It was written by J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie, and was first sung on Eddie Cantor's radio show in November 1934. It became an instant hit with orders for 100,000 copies of sheet music the next day and over 400,000 copies sold by Christmas.

She DID??
(Sorry...Couldn't resist. :Hahaha: )
Carol guessed it. It's . . . . It's . . . . . . Eeew, I have a hard time even writing it. . . . . It's Santa Claus is Coming to Town, performed sickeningly by The Jackson 5. It seems like every time I go to the store, I hear that same shrieking "Saaaaaaaaaaaaaanta Claus is comin' to to-own......Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanta Claus is comin' to to-own". If I hear it ONE MORE TIME, I may just stuff a sock in the speakers! (I've discovered that any Christmas song they performed is pretty hard on my ears.) AND, I heard Michael Bolton sing the same arrangement of the song, and found that I couldn't stand that, either. It wasn't quite as nasty as the J5 "singing" it....but it was bad.
Rob Nip it in the bud!

Glad we got to the bottom of this! But you'll have to forgive Michael Jackson. He was only a kid when they did that song. His voice is a lot higher now. :sing:
Michael Bolton... I know there are those who like his style, but he makes me want to go out and punch Christmas right in the face.

(And I'm rolling on both your comments. LOL! ).
Ok, this is embarrassing, but Bill & I actually danced to M.B.'s "When a Man Loves a Woman" at our wedding. First off, that was NOT our song. Second off, I really can't stand Michael Bolton either!! So, WHY, you ask??? LOL! Well, 'our song' is "Follow You, Follow Me" by Genesis, (or maybe just by Phil Collins ), but it really is not a dancing song, so we had to pick a different one. When the DJ showed us the list of songs I got overwhelmed and we just kind of agreed on the MB one! :faint2: Talk about life regrets! :sad5: What can I say, it was the 90's! :haha:

I don't mind that Michael Jackson was a kid.....I can forgive him for that. But the screaming Christmas carols? I don't even think so.
As for Michael Bolton! Other than that one Christmas song, in that particular arrangement, Michael Bolton is one of my all time favorite singers in the whole WORLD!! How could you say such a mean, terrible thing about him, Rob??
I'm kidding. I can't stand his singing, either. :Hahaha:
