I like it when it's cold because you can always heat yourself up, but when It's hot you can't always cool yourself down! YES!!!! I have said that for years when I get a confused reaction to my basic statement of "I really hate hot weather". Well... I have not encountered this problem... lol If I have the AC on or if I get some sort of air from a fan or from trees, stay in the shade, drink something cool... I'm okay.
It seems like in the winter... and mind you, it doesn't get as cold as in the Eastern states, I am always rubbing my hands together to keep them warm. Gloves don't always work because I'm at work typing and sometimes I feel like my fingers are about to fall off, not to mention my feet. In a cold environment, the body must work harder to regulate heat. When I exercise, geez... it takes a while for my body to start getting warm, it's slow and painful lol... until finally it has enough heat and I feel like moving and motivated... it is HARD to start exercise in the winter, all I want to do is stay under the covers under a thick pajama! But my doctor says that I MUST keep exercising even in the coldest of winters lol.
Yes, it does feel good to be under the covers, snuggled while enjoying some hot chocolate but we can't do that all day lol and we must get to work or our chores. Getting out of bed in the mornings is a nightmare... not to mention the cold toilet seats! lol My friends and family members who suffer from arthritis are wishing for warm weather. Simple: Cold hurts me, sweating doesn't.
I guess I am like a bear, when it gets cold... my biggest wish is to hibernate
We must be related, Carol. I feel exactly the same way. Wake me up when it's Spring-time.

| Oh wow Rob, really?! We maybe have an inch I'm guessing? Not sure, but this is how I like it---a nice little covering, to beautify the landscape, but still very driveable out there. | |

| I'm not sure how much we have but it looks like 4-6 inches. Kara sure is getting practice driving in snow. | |

| Since last night, we've gotten at least 15 inches of snow, and it's not letting up. It's really windy, too. Needless to say, we're "hunkered down." | |

| Wow, Teresa! I can imagine!! Stay warm over there!! Savannah, are you gearing up for our 'arctic storm'? You're going to get that snow you love so much! Nick is on a field trip to Chicago today with his German club, and is on his way home....I guess it rained all day there, and was windy and freezing. Poor kid. It's all turning to snow from here on out---hopefully they don't get any until he arrives safely home tonight! Prairie Dweller, your 'boys' are too darn cute!! | |

| Aw, PD, your boys are adorable. They're obviously smart little critters too. Stay safe with all that snow, Teresa. I am a tiny bit jealous. We had a dusting last night, but still no real accumulation to speak of. I want you to remind me of how badly I wanted the white stuff by mid-February when I am complaining and eager for spring. | |

| Thanks :)
I was under a blizzard warning. I don't think I am anymore though. Yesterday I received rain, then snow, then rain, then snow. During the night the wind picked up and made some lovely drifts.

| It's a winter wonderland here. We're 'hunkered down' right now too, Teresa. Sure it pretty out there---the boys (Nick has a friend here) are hoping for a snow day tomorrow!! Me too! | |

| So far we've gotten off pretty easy up here. We've had about 5 inches of snow. The temp has dropped from 30 to 16 since this morning, and it's windier, so we're in for some drifting. | |

| We ended up with about 6 inches of super-hard frozen snow. I'm not sure how cold it is, but it's cold enough the kids didn't end up having school today. The poor kids in my mom and tot class won't get their Christmas party because it was their last day. | |

Wow, that IS getting off pretty easy up there!! How cold is it today? We're not supposed to get above zero windchill today. - pamh36 wrote:

Oh, those poor kids Pam!! What a bummer. All my 'snowday' kids brought their snowpants today, but I'm afraid it's going to be too cold to venture out today. - Teresa wrote:

Are you kidding me?!?! WOW. I can't believe school is still open!!!

| Then, to top it all off, the dome of our Metrodome caved in, and so now the Vikings will be playing the Giants tonight at the Detroit stadium. We have our last home game next Monday night against the Bears, and so we'll see if it can get repaired by then. If not, then they'll probably be trucking back to Detroit. What a mess!
Pam, that's too bad about the holiday party. I just can't believe this weather!
