I don't think I belong in this thread.... We have been in the 60s and Southern Cal had record braking 80 degrees yesterday! lol

| My family and I are going to San Diego for a little winter getaway from the 27th-31st, so it will be nice to be in some warm weather for a few days. We're going to visit to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. We've never taken a trip over winter break, so we're looking forward to it. Carol, are the temps usually in the 60's at the end of December? | |

Oh wow Teresa! Yep, it's usually in the mid 60s, around 65 or so, which will be quite nice compared to what you are having now lol Last time I was in San Diego was about 5 years ago I think and we did the San Diego Zoo/Sea World thing too. It was really fun! You will do a lot of walking at both parks. Also, in case your daughter likes dolphins, she can have a chance to swim with them. :) There is a short training session to understand what dolphins are all about, then everyone puts their wetsuit & head to the water with the dolphins and the trainers (my little cousin said she fed them ice cubes); it is a great starter activity to playing with the dolphins & having plenty of pictures. This activity is safe as it is in a designated dolphin activity pool.

| Thankfully, we are able to move the holiday party until Thursday, so the kids will still get to have their party. Teresa, they have been talking about how the Metrodome caved in quite a bit here on our local news channel. But, being that the news station is based in Detroit, they are excited to have Monday night football here. But, it sure does come at a great expense. | |

- Wow, that IS getting off pretty easy up there!! How cold is it today? We're not supposed to get above zero windchill today.
I'm not sure about windchill here, but our real temp made it up to 10 in late afternoon. Now we're on our way back down.

Glad to hear the party is back on, Pam. - Amy wrote:

Are you kidding me?!?! WOW. I can't believe school is still open!!! I'm surprised. We've closed schools in that weather. So far not much more than rain to report here, but tons of it. The hubby and I got caught in a downpour on our way into the mall. It's supposed to get cold tonight and we might have flurries for the next three days.

| Tassie gets a lot of snow during winter. Didn't see any, but there are lots of "Slippery when frosty/icy" road signs. | |

| That storm that hit the southeast earlier is heading our way. We're supposed to get 12 - 16 inches of snow that begins around midnight. Luckily, that means I won't be driving anywhere, but that also means I'll have a house full of kids. | |

| Oh man! Keep warm Cheryl! As for me, anything below 60 is COLD! I'm tired of the cold, I don't like seeing my breath when I speak, I hate that cold stabbing pain when your bum hits the toilet seat (LOL) and I hate that it gets dark so quick. lol I am counting the milliseconds for Spring to make it's grand entrance! | |
