I really liked Kristy in the beginning of the song, and then it was just...blah. And then her last two notes---great!!! The judges were right...she should have done more of that. Too bad, because I thought maybe she was really going to bring it tonight.
OMG, David was SO good just now!! That kid's voice!!! :adore: He's just unbelievable. What maturity to be able to pull that off after last week's disaster...I must say, I was holding my breath!
Ok...what the heck?!? I liked Michael John's performance! I thought he did a good job.

Hmmmmm.......................not good this week kids, not good. The only one I liked is David Archuleta. I think that Kristi has a really great voice and can't wait for the Beatles' songs to be over. People had a difficult time picking good song choices this week. It was quite brutal for me.............if I'm being honest. The bottom 3 is a toss up. I didn't care for Amanda, Kristi, or Ramiele. Chikezie's performance was a little strange. Brooke was okay, but definitely needs to be holding a guitar or sitting behind a piano, which she already knows. You could tell she was very uncomfortable just standing up there behind the microphone. Many of the performances were just really boring for me tonight. They probably shouldn't have done the Beatles 2 weeks in a row, although I love their songs.

My favorite tonight was David Archuleta. :Gjob:
I thought Michael was good too!
And "Here Comes The Sun" is one of my favorite songs... but Brooke... I don't know... lol

LOLOL Teresa, you sound like you're channeling Simon!
I agree entirely with your post....except for Kristi. I think both she and Syesha are just too 'average' in comparison to the other singers. I liked the beginning of Kristi's song, but then it just fell apart...LOL, until the last two notes!
David was my favorite too, Carol. He's just amazing. I still liked Jason's "Michelle", but he almost seemed distracted or something with the audience right in front of him. Maybe they shouldn't have people so close to the stage? Ramiele seemed the same way.
Chikezie...what was that?!? The beginning was good...where did that hoe-down come from?? Yep, just weird.
BUT, I actually LIKED Michael Johns!! I liked the arrangement, his performance, everything! I even went back and re-watched it, to see if I could see why the judges didn't like it, but nope...I just can't figure out why Simon called it 'a mess'. I thought that was unfair. You know what, I'd rather hear a condensed Beatles song that I know rather than some obscure Beatles song that was never a hit. But yeah...I am totally ready for the Beatles to be done...Simon was right about that--they shouldn't have done it again.
Not sure why Simon said that Blackbird was 'indulgent' for Carly. I thought that was silly...if anyone could handle it it was her! Her low range is really very pretty.
Amanda, just not liking her. She was ok, for her 'genre', but my hubby came into the room when she was on and said,"I can sing better than her when I have a cough and sore throat!" I'm glad Simon said what he did. The reason she's not singing a ballad is because she can't...we saw that with Wayward Son...this is the only kind of music she can do.
My prediction: Syesha or Kristi tonight. But I'm also getting tired of waiting for Ramiele to prove herself....she was just 'ok' last night.

Amanda got on my nerves last night when she started saying that she wanted to sing the songs that she would sing at her show... I have said it before and I'll say it again.... all her songs sound EXACTLY THE SAME to me.... about the same couple of notes with a lot of slurring and yelling :sad5:
Simon was off in lala land when he commented on Michael John..... I thought Michael did great! Here Simon: :fullmoon: LOL
Also... Carley did good too and Simon starts trashing the song?? Who cares about the song, what matters is Carley sang it great! Well.... song choice does matter BUT if you sing it good.... that's what really counts.

Who do you think is gonna go Home? I think it might be Amanda and i think the bottom three is gonna be
Amanda Overmyer Kristy Lee Cook Jason Castro
I'm Just Hoping that Kristy Lee Cook is gonna stay she can do better with Country songs like real Country not some Rock song made in to country.
Wouldt't it be SOOOOOOO cool for some of us if they sent Carly Flapping her Black Wings

100% agreement Carol, on all three counts! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who liked Michael! I was beginning to think there was really something wrong with me, lol!

Michael was okay, but my husband and I thought that his performance was lacking something. I agreed with Simon, of course, about his arrangement of the song. It was kind of all over the place. I think that he was lacking energy with the song too. He was better last week. David A. was the only one who really sang great the whole way through. Some contestants had bits and pieces of their songs that sounded pretty good, but not the ENTIRE song, like David. The song choices were just a bit boring.
LOL, Amy!! Yes, I am adopting some of Simon's cliches. Did you see Carly's husband in the audience this time? They should him a couple of different times.

Last night was kinda boring, almost nobody was REALLY good, and nobody did HORRIBLE. Like always, I didn't like Amanda. David cook was ok but he wasn't as good as the last 2 weeks. I actually though Jason did OK, maybe I just like the type of singing he does. David A. was the only one who stood out, and maybe Syesha, who, in my opinion did one of her best performances ever. Micheal Johns and Kristy were average. Chikezie was kinda weird, he seems to have avery nice personality though.

I know, ick! Can you imagine him showing up on your doorstep? Not to be mean, but really...
Can I just say, I am so peased that we can all talk freely on this board about such things, and all respect that we're just stating opinions. Some comments were made about Priscilla Presley's 'facial enhancements' over on my DQ board (she's on Dancing wt Stars), and someone is all over us about how 'petty' and 'high-schoolish' we're all being. We're not crucifying the poor woman, just sharing an opinion that we personally think it's gross. Is that SO wrong? Are we not allowed to do this? I don't know...just totally made me appreciate what I have here, which is a lot of laid back people like myself. It's nice.
Not that I'm saying tatoos are 'gross'...I don't really mind Carly's so much, but this all over thing her hubby did kind grosses me out. I'm sure he's a very nice person, but, like Priscilla's Botoxed lips, his tatoos are a tad...distracting.

I've always thought that Priscilla Presley was absolutely beautiful. I'm sure that she thinks by having the botox, and whatever else, it will make her feel younger and prettier. If she wouldn't have done anything to her face, I bet you she'd still be as beautiful as she was when she was on Dallas. It's always different though when you're judging yourself. I've never been a fan of the whole botox/lip thing. Angelina Jolie does that too, right? Their lips don't even look that good when they're finished. They look all puffed up and bloated. I agree, Amy. It's nice that everyone here can share their opinions without being ridiculed.
Danielle, I agree with you on Sayesha's performance last night. She sounded better than she has in quite a while. I love the song, "Yesterday."

Actually, Angelina Jolie had those lips as a little kid! I'm 99.9% sure she's never had anything done....it's everone else who are trying to get those "Angelina Jolie lips"! LOL!! And yes, I agree with you Teresa...Priscilla is very beautiful---she'd be much prettier without the Botox, but you're absolutely right---we're all our own worst critic.
And Ellie Jane, I have to say, Syesha really did step it up this week. The song was very heartfelt too...I guess I just don't really care for her voice.

Just a little tid bit about Simon: There's a family here in Southern Minnesota who have a 3 year old daughter with cancer. Their medical insurance will not cover all of her expenses, and they are struggling to keep up with mortgage payments for their home. Simon was on Oprah recently and she was talking about this family. Simon was saying how unfair this is for insurance companies to do this to families. They didn't do anything to deserve it. So..........Simon is paying off this family's mortgage of $200,000. I thought that this was so awesome of him. He really is a wonderful and caring guy. Sure, he may act a bit harsh on the show, but it's not like he's a jerk in real life. If he is doing this for a family in rural MN, think about how much else he gives all around the world. He has to make at least $80 million dollars a year. It's nice to see him giving back to those in need.

LOLOLOL Carol!!!!!
I'm pretty surprised that it was her...I thought her fan base was bigger. If I was actually going to see that tour, I would be FAR happier to see Kristi or Syesha there over Amanda! In fact, Amanda may have been enough to keep me away!
Needless to say, I think we're all happy campers!
Teresa, that is such a neat story about Simon. I thought Ryan was kind of making him look like a jerk about having a 1 million dollar car. Does Ryan really think we don't know Simon has expensive cars? And what's with these stupid phone calls?!?! "What did you last download to your ipod?" "Is American Idol all you thought it would be?" OMG, just DUMB! Can't they think of any other filler that THIS????
