Finally, in conclusion (LOL, I feel like I should say that, because I feel like I'm writing an essay! ), it was more obvious than ever last night (at least for me) how much stronger the guys are than the girls, overall. That group song was seriously lacking, and it's because the girls are weak performers...none of them except for Carly can really belt it out when they need too, especially in their lower register.
I agree with you here Amy! A couple months ago I was watching a show called Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Anne and they each had their own group who would compete against each other in group songs while dancing and if Bruno or Carri Anne would have had to judge that group song of the idols last night... it would have been massacre for them.... :paperbag:

If she does make it to Country week... I would LOVE to see Kristy sing "Up" from Shania Twain.... and give it her all... I think if she would learn some dance steps..... she could really rock the stage w/ that song! :cowgirl:

When they showed Jim Carrey at the beginning of the show, you could see Carly's husband at the bottom right hand side of the screen. It was quick though, but you could certainly see all of his tattoos. LOL!!

I saw Sanjaya---was that his sister he was with? It was a really quick shot, but I think that was her. I missed Danny! Oh well. (Just kidding )
Carol, I didn't see that Bruno vs. Carrie Ann show but I heard about it. I can just imagine Simon was itching to judge last night's group song.
And how about Jim Carrey last night??? How exciting for the contestants to get to meet him! As CrAzY as he is, he actually seems like a pretty down-to-earth guy...I've always liked that about him. (That's judging him from the several times I've seen him on Oprah. ). But LOL, I really thought he'd take his Horton ears off once he was done with his 'speil', but he left them on for awhile! I would have been pretty darn upset if I was one of the audience members sitting behind him!! But how do you ask Jim Carrey to please remove his ears?!?!
Teresa, I wish I would have seen that! Or maybe I'm glad I didn't?! I'm sure he'll be back...

How can y'all watch this show? If I was a contestant, the first time Simon opened his mouth I'd jump across his judge's panel and beat the tar out of him, then let him judge how well I did that.

LOL, Larry!! But Simon does speak the truth............most of the time. If the contestants can't take his criticism, then they better think twice about getting into the music business. It will only get tougher.

Is Simon the one who exudes self-important arrogance? I think it would be pretty hard for anyone else to think as highly of him as he seems to think of himself, if he's the one I'm thinking of.

LOL, Savannah! Yes, you're probably thinking of Simon. He is the judge from England who speaks with the British accent. I know he can be a little arrogant, but he cracks me up. In real life, he and Ryan Seacrest (the host) are really good friends. They argue a bit on the show, but I think it's mostly "for show."

LOL!! Yes, Jacob, I remember that. You can tell by the way those two joke around that they're friends. I've seen the two of them on talk shows together. Jay Leno, I think. Have you ever noticed how small Ryan Seacrest is? My husband always jokes around saying that he's not much bigger than me. He can't be more than 5'6" or so. I like him, he's pretty funny.

Well, I'm only 5'4". It's just funny because most of the female contestants are so much taller than Ryan. I'm sure that most of them are wearing heels, but remember Jordan Sparks? She was HUGE compared to him. LOL!!

Yep...I agree Teresa. I think both the 'rivalry' between he and Ryan AND Simon's 'attitude' is mostly for show. America has really grown to love Simon...when the show first started, people hated him (and his candidness), but I think everyone learned to love him and his style! LOL! I end up agreeing with him 99.9% of the time and I like it that he has the guts to tell these people (who choose to be there) what he thinks of them. He usually does give constructive advice and the guy doesn't stutter. Paula just trips over her words and never really says anything different! LOL! So yeah, I'm a Simon fan. Now, Wed night, I did feel like he was borderling 'ridiculing' poor Kristy because she'd already heard the night before that he hated her song, and it's not like she could have changed it in one night, so let it go already, right? I've been agreeing with Randy more this season too, than ever. But Wed night I actually agreed with Paula a lot, when she disagreed with Randy, which rarely happens.
As far as Ryan goes, I've liked him other seasons better than this one...if anyone is bordering on obnoxious, it's him IMO. Like how he acted after Chikezie sang? Ugh. I'm not saying his job is easy though...I think it's more difficult that it looks.
OH, ROFL Carol...love that video!!! Now, THAT is an obnoxious Simon!!!
