Well, she certainly is 'stoic'! I don't know any other way to say it...all I know is, I'd be more like David Cook's mom...I would be BEAMING at my son, and I know I wouldn't be able to control my emotion....that is more true of his dad than her. Every mom is different I guess. I loved those pictures too, Carol! Everyone looks so proud and happy for David Cook! And he looks so happy...very cool moment. And Jacob, my mom says she wants to go see them on the tour!! Yikes!! Not sure where I'm going to get the money for that with a son going off to college, but I may have to dig it up! I've never wanted to see an AI show more than I do this one, that's for sure! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| I was really surprised that David C. won. I thought Enchilada insured his victory with his last three performances; David C's seemed kind of lackluster and anticlimactic by comparison. But I felt the same way as Simon when he said this was the first time that he didn't care who won. Both Davids are great performers and are probably destined to have successful careers. | |

I thought he was too, that night, but I guess it boils down to what people saw from him in the rest of the competition. I just think there's so much more than singing for this competition. Randy said it's "about finding the best singer". I really think David A. is the 'best singer', but clearly it's more about who has the 'whole package'. David Cook has that over D.A., and I think it comes down to maturity. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

True. When they interview David you can see how articulate he is and he's good with words. Archie is more shy and says "Oh gosh..." or laughs or is not sure what to say.... LOL he's too cute. Although... Jason is older and he gets a little shy too or unsure of what to say... :haha:

| Yep, and that's where the maturity comes in....I know some 17 year olds (my son's friends) that are more mature than my hubby's 45 year old friends! LOL! So go figure. I think part of Archie's appeal happens to be that 'innocent' quality he seems to have though. It's refreshing to see compared to some of the kids in the industry. I just hope the industry doesn't change him too much. I was thinking how lucky some band will be to work with David Cook, actually...it's clear that everyone on the show adores him and I'm sure he's going to be awesome to work with. One more thing...I was re-watching parts of the show and did you guys notice how HAPPY Simon was?! I mean, the man was BEAMING after Cook was named the winner. It's while they show he and Paul & Randy all standing and applauding. I honestly have never seen Simon quite so thrilled! :haha: “Not all of us can do great things. | I tivo'd Jay Leno last night because David Cook was going to be on. My husband and I watched it a little while ago. It was a good interview. He was on at the end of the show and Jay said that hopefully he can come back sometime and sing. I'm sure that Fox has their "price" for letting David sing on talk shows. David Cook will be on Ellen and Regis and Kelly next Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll see if he sings or not. He and David Archuleta will be performing on the Today Show, this coming Thursday, the 29th.
Update: Live with Regis and Kelly: David Cook performs on Tuesday David Archuleta on Wednesday Syesha on Thursday
David Cook must be on the Ellen show on Wednesday.
And yes, I'm taping them all. LOL!!

| LOL, Carol! It was so funny. When David walked out onto the Jay Leno stage, he bypassed the interview chair and layed down on the couch next to it. He's got such a great personality. He told Jay that he's had maybe an hour of sleep. | |

| Oh, I wish I'd seen him on Leno! My parents told me at the last minute that the contestants were going to be on Larry King Live last night! I had my son's band concert last night, and literally hit record on the dvr as I as walking out....otherwise I would have let you all know about it! It was really good---they interviewed Cook first, then Archie, then both together, and then they brought out Syesha, Jason, Brooke, Carly, Kristy Lee Cook and Chikezie. They interviewed Michael Johns by satellite. It was really cool...you could see that they have all become a great group of friends through this. David A. called Carly his 'mom' during the show...apparently she really took him under her wing, I thought that was cute. He tried so hard not to be 'goofy' and 'giggly' last night, I could tell, but in the end he gave into the giggles! LOL...such a sweet kid. David C. was so humble and wonderful. Gotta love the guy. OH, and do you guys remember Luke Menard? He was one of the top 16, and he had the really high pitched voice. He sang Queen, I remember that...dark hair and brown eyes. Well, David Cook wanted to mention that Luke has just been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease. That is just so sad...he is such a young guy.
The contestants will all be back on Larry King Monday night for an 'email' show, where they'll answer everyone's emails.
Thanks Teresa, for sharing all those talk-show airings with us! I do think David Cook is on Ellen on Tuesday....someone mentioned it on the Dr. Quinn board. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Oh, that's sad about Luke. I remember him. I looked it up and it is a treatable type of cancer with a 95% survival rate. At least they caught it early enough. It was a stage 2. | |

| I remember Drew...he's such a neat kid, how could I forget? He's the one who had quite the work ethic and loved farming so much, and said "it's ok (about not getting to the final 24), this way I don't have to miss turkey season!" LOL! He really does have a good country voice....I hope he does something with it. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Okay, so they DID switch things around. David Cook will be on Ellen AND Regis and Kelly on Tuesday. Originally, I saw that he was on Ellen on Wednesday, but I just looked at her schedule and it said Tuesday. David A. will be on Regis on Wednesday, and then the two David's will perform on the Today Show on Thursday. I'm about to watch the Idols on Larry King. I got to see the one I missed on Friday night because they re-played it last night. | |

| Not to confuse all of you, but if you want to see David Cook on the Ellen show, I would tape it on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ellen's web-site says that he's on tomorrow, but my TV info says Wednesday. So, I'm going to tape both days just in case. | |

| I watched Larry King last night. One question..........What is up with Michael Johns??????????? The top ten were supposed to be there, and 9 of them were. Michael Johns, however, was via satellite in Las Vegas. What could he have possibly been doing that kept him from this group interview? And then he kept dodging the question with Larry. Larry must have asked him 3 times what he was doing in Las Vegas. Michael kept trying to be the funny man. I could tell that Larry was annoyed, as was I. At one point, everyone went around and said where they were from. When Chickezie said that he was from Englewood, CA, you heard Michael in the background say, "Is that just North of Nigeria?" What????????????? Was that an "off" remark or what? It sounded a little on the racial side for me. Michael was trying to be funny, but come on. Enough of trying to be the comedian of the group. He's not funny, just straight up annoying. The rest of the interview was fun to watch though. | |

| Teresa, I was just as annoyed as you were! I don't understand why he was being like that...he was being pretty obnoxious, IMO. I think maybe the 'group' is totally used to it and that 'get him', but THIS is National tv!! You don't just say whatever comes to your mind! Did you hear his comment about 'going both ways', and David Cook said "easy Michael Johns". Hmm. He's a loose cannon all right. And yes, I have to wonder why he wasn't there with the group too. I missed the first 10 minutes...what were they saying about Kimberly Caldwell? Are she and David Cook dating? SHE drives me nuts...I can't watch that "Idol Rewind" show if she's hosting it. She's just too much for me. Doesn't seem like the kind of person D.C. would be into. Maybe she's different in person though...I shouldn't judge her as a person...just her tv persona bugs me. Did you guys see David C on Regis & Kelly? He sounded pretty great considering it's morning! And gosh he's a nice guy...he's so down to earth, I feel like I could just sit and have lunch with him! LOL! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| I tivo'd Regis, so I'm gonna watch it in a little bit. David said that he wanted to go out for dinner with Kimberly. They haven't talked yet, but we'll see. Yeah, she bugs me too. Her and Justin both. They're way too annoying on the show they host. I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed with Michael Johns. He's trying to be funny, and he's coming off as an idiot. A little embarrassing. He has always thought that he's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY cooler then he is, IMO. I know that alot of you guys liked him, but he was never my cup of tea. I'm sure that Larry King was hoping that he wouldn't open his mouth anymore. David Cook was probably hoping the same thing. | |

| Dang it! I missed the Larry King interview! Maybe it's on youtube... or maybe they'll replay it? I gotta say, Michael Johns... I don't know... he started to annoy me a little too. I saw the group interview on Idol Tonight and he was not funny to me and didn't like his comments too much... In one I heard he said he wanted to corrupt Archie... he said it laughing... but several times I've head him say "I can't wait to get Archie on the road"... stuff like that... | |
