I know last month, I told everyone here about my engagement. I realized that I never really mentioned anything beyond that, about any plans we've made so I would just like to keep my friends on the prairie up to date on this big event in my life :)
We are hoping to get married in September of 2009 - yep, 2 years away. We just figured that since I'm trying to finish up school this year, it would be easier to save the money we'll need with two years. We are pretty sure we've found the hall we want to have the reception at and are going to go for a "walk through" before the end of the year, but they don't book for 2009 until 2008 so we have to wait on that. The church, I'm pretty sure, will book in advance and even though I don't belong to the same parish anymore, my mother has her heart set on me getting married in the church I grew up in, so for her we're going to try to make those arrangements. Also, Mike and I went to the same HS and were actually in a class together taught by a priest that we were both really fond of. He has since transferred to another state, but we are hoping we can convince him to come back for the ceremony.
Lastly, and most importantly - my color for my bridesmaids will most likely be blue. :haha:
So, I guess I don't really have any definite things planned out yet, but we are definitely working on them
Okay, now I will go to bed! :sleep:

Congrats Christina. Two years may seem like a long way off but the planning will keep you busy enough so that they will pass by quickly. My brother got married in late September and the colours outdoors were really amazing. We were dressed in navy with orange flowers that matched the trees. I wish you all the best as you continue to plan and make preperations. Have fun!

Awww Christina, how exciting for you to be planning your wedding. It does take up a lot of time, so putting the date 2 years from now will be a great help. Whatever you do in the next 2 years, remember to take time out for YOU and for the two of you to take some WE time. In all the planning, it is easy to lose yourself as a person and/or lose yourselves as a couple. Enjoy your time and may God bless your marriage!

That's so great, Christina. I hope you thoroughly enjoy all of the planning and preparation, and that you're able to convince your special priest to come do the ceremony. {{{Christina}}}

Go on, Christina...and CONGRATS! I'm very happy for you. I think that two years is a good amount of time to get things well done. I know your priest will be there, and that you'll begin a nice, exciting life with your beloved one. :woohooo: :cheers16:
Oh...by the way...Did you remember which young girl from a very praized TV Show was forced to wait two years before she could marry, but his father was nice enough to short the marriage by a year? But I know your case is different, since you and your futur husband had fixed the date all by yourselves!
Vanesa.

Congratulations, Christina!! I am so excited for you. :)
Two years will be here before you know it! I think that is perfect, since you will have this year to focus on finishing school; then you will have another whole year to take care of wedding preparations. Without, hopefully having too much stress. I only gave myself 6 months and I did indeed have some stress trying to pull everything together, but it did work out.
Have fun with the planning! :)

Christina, two years seems like a long time right now, but I assure, it will go FAST! You'll actually appreciate having all this time to plan...I ended up post-poning my wedding because we weren't ready! I underestimated how much time it takes!! Take this time to prepare as much as you can early, so that it's FUN and not stressful. It should be a time to be 'celebrated', not a chore, as it seems so many brides seem to make it. Congrats again!

If I had my way, all my prairie pals would be flown out to my wedding, which would take place at one of the LIW sites! LOL thank you all so much for the comments, I posted about a month ago when we got engaged but things have been so hectic I probably hadn't spoken about it with some of you and I know how hard it is trying to keep up with everything on here. Thank you very much for the sweet comments :)
We are hoping that 2 years will make things a little less stressful, and give us time to save the money we'll need while still having time to go out once in awhile when we want to (like what you were saying about "us" time, Rhonda). And hopefully the extra time will prevent me from turning into a "bridezilla". Has anyone ever watched that show? I told Mike that if they paid for our wedding, I would go on the show and run around crazy yelling at people.
Vanesa, you're very right about a certain girl also waiting 2 years to get married! I hadn't even thought of that
