| Amy, yeah iguess I can see where youre coming from. I have been thinking that Jason and David C would do better separate from American idol, they are both pretty unique and creative. David A could probably sing anything and the people who like him would like it. :) if da wins i'm sure that DC and JC would do good anyway. | |

Me too...actually, I think most of them up there now will do really well whether they win or not. Interesting, I heard this morning on the radio that AI is way down in their ratings this season. I hadn't heard that before this! I mean, I'm sure it's lost some appeal to plenty of people, but I know a lot of people who are just as crazy about the show as me! (LOL...Jacob, for one! ). It just seems strange to me...every season has new people and Simon is still there---I'm as big a fan if not bigger than the 2nd season when I started watching! Ok, looks like Jacob is skipping the reminder so I'll fill in for him today ..... American Idol tonight!! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Interesting night with the Andrew Lloyd Webber songs. I thought the two Davids were probably the best. I like David Cook more every week. He might be the only Idol whose records I'd actually buy. Or at least download illegally for free. | |

| I agree, Rob...I loved the two Davids, but especially David Cook! I'm a little shocked that Simon didn't love that more...I mean, aren't they supposed to show their versatility?! I would get bored (as good as David is) if he did the same thing (gritty emo stuff, which does suit him) every single week. This was refreshing and he totally pulled it off. He shows more versatilty than David A. IMO. Personally I thought Brooke and Jason (yes...my Jason!! ) had the worst night. I actually still enjoyed Jason's latter half of his song, but it was definitely lacking. Of course, I still voted for him though. I want to see him at least get farther than Brooke and Syesha. Syesha was good, but I still didn't love that---it's funny, with her I like her upper range better, with Carly I like her lower range better! I actually thought Carly was fantastic tonight---best ever for her, IMO. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| I agree, Amy and Rob, the two David's were the best! Brooke may be going home this evening. My husband and I paused the show on Carly's husband last night to get a good look at him. LOL!! He is actually quite attractive. Why does he need to cover up his face like that? Bazaar! | |

| You know, you're right Teresa! I noticed that too. And did you see that he was practically in tears? It was more emotion than I'd ever seen out of him. On my other board they they think that Carly actually butchered that song!! I really liked it and thought it was totally 'her', and for the first time she seemed to sing it really 'happy', unlike the 'angry' singing I feel like we usually get from her. Yep, I think it might be Brooke tonight...or, heaven forbid, Jason!! *Amy tries to regain control* I'm going to believe that Jason has the stronger fan base though, and can hopefully beat her out. I still think he has more talent than both Syesha & Brooke combined, but unfortunately he doesn't always 'bring it' each and every week. I kind of think Brooke did over-act that song too...I disagreed with Paula there. But I did agree with her that you can't just stop and start a song like that. Sure, it's not like you have a choice once it happens, but at this point in the competition, you can't expect not to be judged for that. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Its getting tough to watch anyone at all go home. Brooke and Jason are possibly going to be the bottom two tonight. I really felt for Brooke. I will be looking for an album from her in the future. I really think we have to remember that no one is loosing really. They all have to ability to make great albums now. Again I think this will come down between Carly and David Cook. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| I knew I knew I knew that Carley was going to do Jesus Christ Superstar! lol I really wanted to hear her doing that one and I thought she did great. I think the one who has sang that song really well though was a girl named Laura Osnes, she is now on Broadway doing Grease .... she came out on "Grease: You're the one that I want".... and on the week where Andrew Lloyd Webber was there..... they did his songs.... Andrew was on the judging panel and he was really proud of how Laura did the song.... so even though it wasn't fair... I was sort of comparing Laura to Carley...... Carley did it a little different, w/ the chorus and everything, where as Laura sang it all herself.... but I thought Carley was still good, I think she'll be safe! My favorites were Davida A., David C. & Carley. :sillySmiley: :idance: So I think the bottom 3 tonight will be Jason, Brooke & Sayesha. Sayesha will be safe though I think. Jason.... oh man... what can I say.... DEFINETELY not his song! Yes, people compare it to the original... because it just sounds awesome. I think that was the first time we heard that song in that version and I just did not like it at all.... Jason is great and all but I don't think he has very much vocal range. Like one of the Judges said... the power voices were owning the night last night. With Jason, I feel like I was in a cruise ship to Jamaica and he was the one singing at a show. lol It's not a bad thing.... but his look, the sound... it just makes me think I'm there.... Okay now Brooke.... I agree with Paula.... it did not look professional what she did... but hey, it happens... ALTHOUGH.... if you remember when David Archuleta forgot the lyrics... that boy just kept on mumbling in tune until he remembered his words... lol. For Brooke, starting and stopping like that.... it was a little something you didn't expect and throughout the song, I only thought that she was nervous and about to cry.... I think she's going home tonight.... *** Just a note about Kristy.... she said that if she would have stayed.... she would have sang "Don't Cry for me Argentina". I don't know... I couldn't picture her singing that song.... but then again, she was getting better so maybe she could have sang it nicely. She also said that her boyfriend proposed to her... so she'll be getting married. Sorry Jacob & Rob | |

Maybe she would have countried it up a little. "Don't Cry for Me, Oklahoma."

| Oh my gosh, that would have been the WRONG song choice for Kristy. Good thing she wasn't able to sing it. Randy and Simon would have had a field day with that one. I just can't picture her singing it in the least. LOL!! | |

On "Idol Extra". They interview the contestants right after they are voted off. This is what happened.... Kristy and her man were at some sort of event and her boyfriend kept on telling her he wanted to talk to her. So he was trying to get a moment alone with her which was hard because of everyone there as well as security guards, etc. So finally, they were able to go into some sauna room or something like that.... and he asked her to marry him. Frankly I don't know why he proposed to her that way... I mean, he could have done something so much more romantic!

| I agree, Jacob. I thought the bottom two would be Brooke and Jason. When it's down to six, however, it isn't that surprising anymore who leaves because they're all pretty good. Having said that, Carly is a better singer than Sayesha, but Sayesha has a much better personality. I've never been a fan of Carly's, so I was happy to see her leave. Sorry, Carol, I know you like her. There was just something about her. She was lacking in the personality department. Brooke has a much better personality, in my opinion. I think that either Sayesha, Brooke, or Jason leave next week. The David's will remain at the top. At least I hope. They may be in the finals together. Which would be cool because their styles are so very different. Neil Diamond songs will be good next week. This week was a little strange. I wasn't too thrilled with the theme. | |

Had to quote your entire post, Teresa, because it's everything I would have said! And yes, I'm sorry Carol! And Gin too! The girl has talent, no denying it, but she just isn't my cup of tea. We have some serious talent up there this season, especially here at the end, and I think at this point it all comes down to popularity. I DO think the two Davids are in a league all their own (especially David Cook) and deserve to be the two last standing. Hopefully America will get that right. As far as who leaves next, I predict it's going to be Syesha...she's been in the bottom several times now---I think that plain & simple, Brooke & Jason are more 'well-liked'. Personality and charm totally come into play in this competition. Am I the only one, or did anyone else notice that Syesha rather sang her song like she was already throwing in the towel? I don't know...to me it seemed like she was just going through the motions, as if she already believed she was going home. She probably did think that, but you don't give up! I don't know, I was a little turned off by that. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| DEFINETELY a popularity vote because Carley should not have gone home before Brooke. I was upset at first but I loved Carley's attitude about it... she's the first one to act like everything was okay... and it's true, things will turn up for her.... Hopefully I can get tickets to see them on tour when they go to Fresno on July 3rd.... :sillySmiley: | |
