| I thought there were some pretty forgettable guys up there tonight...they ALL have talent, but some just have that 'it' factor right off the bat and you don't even need to hear them again to know it. Several of the other guys you could tell right away they were lacking what it takes, IMO. My favorites: Jason Castro (braid guy...LOVE his sound) Michael Johns (this guy has it ALL) Robbie Carrico (this guy can SING!) David Archuletto (Ah, this kid melts my heart!!) David Hernandez (Love the power in his voice---great tone too) I voted for David H. because I figured he'd have the hardest time getting votes, considering he went first. I was able to get right through (I voted like 20x because there was NO wait), so I hope that's not a bad sign! I definitely want to see more of him! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Explain this whole voting thing to me. Why can people vote multiple times? When I was reading the book I read from many of the fan accounts about the multiple votes and it just seems like cheating. So, since I've never seen the show before, can you AI experts fill me in? BTW, Dean Butler is a fan of AI. | |

| Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, I see. I saw a story about it on the Today Show yesterday. The girl with the tattoos on her arm had a previous recording contract back in 2001, and even sold records. The whole point of American Idol is to discover new talent...................amateurs. Now, 17 year old David, won Star Search 5 years ago, but that's different because it's a talent show. He's not being offered any kind of a recording deal. He's one of my favorites. I just don't want him to act surprised every time the judges give him raving reviews, because I got annoyed last season when Melinda Doolittle did that. I'm looking forward to watching the girls perform tonight. Randy needs to stop calling them the "boys." Call them "guys." Michael Johns is 29 years old. LOL!! | |

| I voted for these guys last night!!! :woohooo: Danny He's great! I think he could have moved a little better to this song but I voted for him because this guy can saaaang! He's got attitude and can liven up the show. Go Danny! David This kid will be in the top 5! He is just so sweet & talented! David H Last night was not his best performance... but I KNOW he has more to give Jason I thought he was great. Plus he was playing the guitar too! Luke I loved the song he chose... but it was sort of a "safe" song ... meaning... he can do so much more with his voice, I want to see him go farther. Michael He's got it all!! | |

I actually found him extremely annoying! He really has a nice voice, but he's a little 'over the top' for my tastes....ahem, Sanjaya! I heard the same thing, Jacob, that we're in danger with him becoming the next Sanjaya, but I will say this....he does have a better voice, so at least that is something. I think Colton is too over the top too, and I'm sorry the Leif Garrett guy was pretty bad...I couldn't wait for that song to end! :sad5: Let me apologize in advance, because I realize this isn't very nice....but....does anyone else notice how 'feminine' SO many of the guys are this year? I mean, I'm not just saying 'attitude', but some really look 'girlish', and even go out of their way to enhance that! I'm not really 'getting it'. Misti, thanks for clarifying about the 'plants'! LOL...I KNEW you didn't meant the green kind, but I just had a brain freeze as to what that actually meant! And like Teresa, let me just give a great big "Ohhhhhhhhhh"...I had NO idea!! I completely agree with you guys---that's just wrong to pick people who have already had a chance. Obviously they're trying to prevent any Sanjayas by doing so, but that's beyond the point. People who have had recording contracts certainly should not be eligible! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

- Honestly, when I saw a photo of one of the singers from this season's American Idol, I thought "Oh, she's pretty." . . . . . Then I found out it was one of the men. :shy: *ooops* I can't speak for other ladies, but *I* would rather be the prettier one when I'm with a gentleman. [/color]
Yep, you can speak for me too, Savannah! I'm really glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this! My dad was saying that he heard the Irish girl is a 'plant', like Misti was saying. Too bad, I really like her. Tonight I voted for Ramiele!! I just love her!! She seems really sweet and humble, something that goes far with me. I'm not into girls with 'attitude'. Attitude in the performance is totally fine with me, and wanted, but as far as a 'real persona', it just rubs me the wrong way. Anyway, I really love Ramiele's voice (so much power out of that little body!) and to me she looks like 'American Idol' material! I thought the worst judging was for Kady Malloy though. I REALLY felt bad for her...she came out there with no nerves and has a really nice, strong voice. She has a richness and quality there that several others just don't have IMO. I almost voted for her, but decided to go with my favorite instead. I hope Kady stays in!! There were certainly several others that were 'expendable'. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| My 2 faves so far are the little Asian girl and the one that sang Janis Joplin. I really don't like the last girl that sang. She had a recording contact. I think it should go to someone that never had one. LETS GO PENS! | |
