I just pretty much keep hitting redial until I'm tired. I vote more obviously toward the end, or really 'tight competition' weeks, but last night I voted probably 20x for Alexis. Probably 10x for Michael Sarver. And I voted 3x for Brent---for our very own country boy here.

My heart was POUNDING as I watched Tatiana and Danny standing side by side at the end. You knew that they'd have Tatiana in the last pairing, though. Wow, was I glad that Danny made it through!! I hope that Tatiana doesn't get a wild card spot. The last time they had the 3 wild cards, each judge got to choose someone to come back. Now that there's 4 judges, and still only 3 wild cards, I'm wondering if they're going to all choose 3 together, or what?

Someone on my Dr. Quinn board said that they heard Ryan say that they go by top # of votes, not by the judges. Maybe they're doing it differently this time around. If that's the case, I'm glad because IMO that is much more fair.
And lol, thanks Carol!

Ok, someone confirmed the procedure on my DQ site:
Quote: "Per Idol's site, it's the Judges Favorites who get to battle it out on March 5th for a spot to be in the top 12. I found it in the article about the Top 36 Revealed. Looks to me as if the Judges pick the 9 or however many to compete again that they liked. Not sure if it's the judges that decide who goes or America."
So there you have it...not too thrilled about this. I don't like the judges having the control in this situation---they're obviously about ratings and water cooler talk, or "Nick/Norman" would not even be competing. I am bracing myself for Tatiana to be coming back into this.
By the way, we haven't even discussed her appalling behavior the other night. Talk about poor 'sportsmanship'! She couldn't even smile graciously or congratulate Danny?! Also, when the others tried to comfort her, she just brushed them off. It was pretty obvious from watching them that she hasn't made a big impression on them either. She is an immature drama queen with a Capital D. Voice or not, she has no place in this competition just based on attitude alone. JMO.

Wow! It sounds like she gave America a perfect example of how not to behave. I can understand being disappointed, but disappointment is a poor excuse for bad manners.

Just stating my opinion here. Of course Amy and anyone else is entitled to their opinion so NO hard feelings here, just stating how I feel
:sing: Tatiana Del Toro
I kind of understand Tatiana’s attitude. At first she turned me off but the more I got to see her, she grew on me and then she mostly made me laugh by watching how she behaved at times. What she needs is someone to tell her to calm down and I think she was trying to as she seemed calmer but people even try to rip her apart then as Kara’s comment to her after she sang was “Where is that crazy Tatiana? I miss her!” and Simon said “Do the laugh” So what the heck do the judges want? She’s trying here… and she’s not going to change overnight. Tatiana wanted this badly and to her it was very hard to hold in tears when she was told she was not put through. It’s normal for her to cry, I saw Stevie Wright hugging her and Tatiana hugging her back letting her be comforted. I didn’t see when she pushed people away but even so, to be honest, I’ve cried at times and didn’t want people to comfort me because at the time I’m not thinking straight, something has me very upset and at first I just want to be left alone, I’m not saying I do that all the time but there were times and so if Tatiana did that, I can understand her actions. Yeah so she’s not your typical sweet girl next door but neither was Madonna or other crazy famous singers out there :haha:
One thing I like… with Tatiana, what you see is what you get… I’m sure other contestants like to put up a front and hold in emotions while on camera although inside they are just as emotional. That girl that sang “every little thing she does is magic” looked pissed when she was getting the comments and didn’t show too much emotion but they played a clip of her backstage where she was crying… if it were have been Tatiana, they would have played the clip several times over and over… the camera loves to see Tatiana get emotional as you could see they kept focusing on her while Danny sang and I’m sorry, I’m sorry… I DO feel bad for Danny’s wife but did that guy have to hold up a picture of her while he sang the song??? Anyway, I’m sure Tatiana was not the only contestant that cried when learning they were not through… she was just the only whose emotions were caught on camera. Also, when she and Danny were called up to get the news of who makes it, I noticed Tatiana trying to grab Danny’s hand as the contestants normally do when two of them are called to wait for an answer but Danny just kept his hands behind his back. He could have shown a little more support.
I have to say that I agree w/ this comment someone posted: “The public’s dislike for Tatiana del Toro was manufactured by the Producers of Idol. The Producers created a feeding frenzy praying on this girl’s insecurities. Tatiana can sing. She did way better than all of the other female contestants, with the exception of Alexis Grace, whose stand out performance was better than anyone else. Tatiana also outperformed most of the males, Michael included. Still, people judge her on her personality. Danny didn’t even try to hold her hand. He screamed with joy and went to the other contestants. The person who stated that he tried to hug Tatiana was watching obviously another show, as it was the other way around!!!. Danny can sing but he is very unoriginal. I believe that Simon had his number when he deflated the hype. Go Alexis! You are excellent and were clearly seen trying to console those who didn’t make it, including Tatiana.”
*Anyway, I doubt she will come back as the wild card so I wish her the best. Hopefully, she can learn to control her emotions a little better because she can sing well and with more practice, she will sound great.

I'll give you that, Carol---I noticed that too and I agree with you. I thought she was genuine right then. But that's the problem for me...I guess most of the time I don't see her as being 'genuine'...when I say she's a drama queen, I mean I see her as being 'fake'. Sorry, that's just how I perceive her and that's not how the producers have shown her to me, that's how I can only 'interpret' the things I've seen. I'm not saying she's a horrible person, but she seems emotionally unstable and I just don't care for her attitude. I have no problem if her tears are real, I would never fault someone for being emotional, but I see her as turning on the water works for attention. I know we're probably not going to agree on her and her 'motives' and that's ok. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt as you have, but I have just seen too much that has made me dislike her. We'll see what happens---I actually DO think she'll get in through the wild card, because she CAN sing and the judges want to 'stir the pot', and maybe when that happens and I get to 'know' her better, perhaps she'll change my mind. Doubtful , but perhaps.
On another "Idol" note...I was watching "Idol Wrap" tonight, and they mentioned that they have received a lot of mail from people wondering what happened with the Osmond guy. I guess he had acquired a case of Laryngitis! The 'hosts' were saying how they think he should have gone through though, even with it. Remember last year when Syesha lost her voice in Hollywood? They still let her through! I just have to wonder how the heck someone like Nick/Norman got in here and not the Osmond guy. I'm guessing they just didn't want to deal with the possible contraversy. I think they're hoping that "Nick" will be the one performing next week too, which I admit should be interesting.

See, I don't have any problem at all with someone crying over something like that. It's something they really, really wanted, and of course they're not going to be happy and cheerful about the loss. But I don't believe that hurt, pain or disappointment gives anyone the right to make someone else hurt. I do see what you're saying, and I understand your opinion . . . I just don't share it. Disappointment is part of each person's life, and is no excuse for treating others poorly, or for poor "sportsmanship".
(And I also think that even Madonna and other famous people like her should use the same courtesy as everyone else - if not more, because they impact more lives than the average person. :fyi: Just because they aren't the typical sweet girls next door doesn't mean that they should be allowed to throw common courtesy out the window.)
Oh - I wanted to add, too, that I think it's really sweet that you try so hard to look for the best in this young woman, Carol.

The thing is, I'm still trying to figure out what Tatiana's "poor sportsmanship" was. This is the first time in Idol history, that I remember anyway... that when two people were called up to get the news, where they did not hug or hold hands. Tatiana tried and looked towards Danny's direction but he just kept on looking foward. Now THAT is poor sportsmanship. Also, American Idol showed poor sportsmanship in putting up Tatiana against Danny. Come on! You KNOW who is going to go! Tatiana could NOT be it or else they would have eaten her alive! Her to go over Danny? Pigs would have to fly all around the American Idol stage first. They put them against each other because they wanted to get some explosive reaction out of her... and EVERYONE agrees with that. And I'm glad Tatiana behaved well, which for a crazy Puerto Rican chick like Tatiana, lol, (and I know a few Puerto Ricans like Tatiana) she did very well. Someone on Ryan Seacrest's radio station said "I saw that you were trying to comfort Tatiana but she pushed you away". Ryan said, "No, what happened was that she was falling and she put her hands out".
An article in the LA Times said...
'American Idol' milks its last drop from Tatiana Del Toro
Alexis Grace, safe. Michael Sarver, safe. Wait, Sarver? After America's favorite roughneck moved forward, the rest of Wednesday's results show was shock-free. Obviously, Danny Gokey, the adequate singer whose wife died just seven months ago, would get the third spot. But in an attempt to get one last reaction out of Tatiana, producers made her and Gokey await their fate together. Very lame, "American Idol." And good for Del Toro, who didn't implode for the cameras.

Anyway, I know we have different opinions here and I'm fine to agree to disagree... I'm just stating my feelings on the subject, that's all.
I'm looking forward to group 2! Looking forward to:
Adam Lambert
Megan Joy Corkcrey
Mishavonna Henson

Actually, I wouldn't have been surprised to see Tatiana advance. There's a website called VoteForTheWorst.com, and their mission in life is to rally enough votes to push the most undeserving contestants ahead. I think they started with Sanjaya a couple seasons ago - remember him? Tatiana turned out to be a talented singer, and was far from the most undeserving, but I think they were championing her solely on the basis of her drama queen rep.
With her gone (at least until the last wild cards are announced), maybe they'll turn their attention to Norman Gentle.

Yeah, I actually didn't think it was 'in the bag' for Danny to win it...I was actually having second thoughts myself because of Votefortheworst going to Tatiana, and then MY votes went to my other faves and none for Danny because I figured everyone would be voting for him. Well, what if everybody had that same mentality? All of a sudden, when I saw them up there together, I started to freak out, LOL! The majority thought she did really well that night (even though I wasn't one of them ), so it would have been feasible for her to beat him out, from both her fans, and her 'votefortheworst' supporters.
Ah, Norman. It will be pretty darn interesting to see if he is "Nick" next week, won't it?!
And of course no hard feelings Carol. Your points are all well-taken and we're all friends here and can state our opinions. We can't always agree on everything---what 'family' does? I respect you and your opinions that you are totally entitled to. Tatiana just gets on my nerves, royally---I can't help it. The hair-flipping, the dramatic 'talk' in her interviews, the fake crying (and I do think it's every bit as fake as her laugh is  ). And more than anything I don't like the idea that her getting voted out is somehow more important than all these other poor people who wanted it JUST as badly, but handled their loss with class, maturity and dignity. If anyone has been milking anything, it's Tatiana milking every bit of her 10 seconds of fame. You raise some valid points Carol, but you're right, we're going to have to agree to disagree.
