I Tivo'd it tonight and it cut off right before Adam performed. Ugh!!! I'll have to watch him on youtube. So it must have gone overtime.............I agree, Amy. The judges need to limit their comments because it caused the show to go overtime. If I would have known that, I would have taped the show after Idol, just to see Adam's performance. That's never happened though. Oh well..................

Oh no!! Yeah, it's ridiculous how the judges just go on and on with certain people, like Lil for example. Someone needs to cut...Paula...OFF! LOL!
I'm sure it will be up on Youtube very soon Teresa. I was in awe over it---it's not often I ask Bill to sit through a song on AI---he really loved it too. He sang "Mad World" by Tears for Fears.

Oh no. Teresa, so you have Tivo? I thought you had DVR? Anyway, if you have it set to record series, make sure that you set it so that it records like maybe 3 to 5 minutes after... you just never know how the show will go.

Thank you for posting the video, Carol. Oops, yes, I do have DVR.
They have some more videos up on youtube now of Adam performing, so I watched one of those too from last night. I don't think I've ever seen Simon give a standing ovation. LOL!!

Turns out Adam is already verywell known in his 'field'. Someone posted this on my other board; I'm just going to copy/paste this here:
After a very quick Google search, it appears that Adam has quite a following ... that preceeds his AI days.
He has at least 2 fan sites devoted to him: http://www.adamlambert.org/ (who are already touting him as the "2009 Winner of American Idol") and http://adam-lambert.net/ (which appears to have been "founded" in February of 2008). There are actually a lot more, if you keep going, but they're much more current.)
Adam is 26 years old. Although he auditioned in San Francisco, he actually lives in Hollywood.
He is a stage actor who is currently performing in a show called, ‘Wicked’. Adam got started at a very early age. His father was a DJ that introduced him to various types of music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
He has over 10 years stage experience. In 2004 he performed at the Kodak theatre with Val Kilmer in “The Ten Commandments’. Kilmer played the role of Moses, and Adam played the role of Joshua.
He went on to perform in Patrick Leonard’s ‘Is Anybody Listening”. Where he quickly became a crowd favorite. The New York Times commented that he was, “the most consistent crowd-wower”. The LA Times was also impressed and said that his “personal sound and style… (was) the best”.
Adam went on to form the alternative rock band ‘The Citizen Vein’ with Composer/Guitarist Monte Pittman. He has also written a four track Solo album which was produced by Malcolm Welsford at Wilshire Artists.
And yes, he does have an IMDB page with more on it that just AI.
Plus, previous AI contestants are saying he has an unfair advantage. (That article is from an Adam fansite, though, so it's a little on the catty side. And for the record, I did a quick search on Allison, and while she has fansites too, they all look to have been created after her appearance on AI.)
It looks like FOX and AI are keeping his already widespread success on the DL, because I had no idea he had made a name for himself in the stage world. Sure, he's no Adam Pascal or Idina Menzel, but he's not the random guy from the chorus, either. And even if he were an understudy to Fieryo ... he still got to perform on at least one occasion, because that performance is on YouTube.
Anyway ... interesting development. I have to think this is just as unfair an advantage (if not more so) than the "Carlys" out there with their prior AI CDs out.

Yes, I knew about Adam's previous 'career'... honestly... Adam stands out so much from the other contestants... it's like... 'Adam and the rest of the group'. You can tell that he's been doing this for quite some time. Allison has also been singing for quite a while. She was on a singing competition on a spanish channel (Telemundo I believe) and she won that contest.
So... since the judges put them through... looks like it's fair game... and yes, it kind of sucks for the ones who haven't had so much experience. But the Judges should then make better rules to make this contest a more real "rags to riches" type of thing...

Someone on my other board just mentioned this too, about the whole 'rags to riches' thing:
I don't mean to be unfair to Adam, because he CAN sing, but I really don't think that he has a place on AI. They pride themselves on taking someone like Carrie Underwood off of her farm in Oklahoma and making her a star because she is that amazing, and I think they missed that mark with Adam. It kind of does explain his massive fan following, though. I mean, I'm sure some of it is legit AI fans, but it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people recognize his name from previous events.
She has a point!

Maybe Matt could pull out a win this season. I'm hoping that he and Adam are in the finals. Adam just seems more like a performer on broadway than a recording artist that would eventually go on tours.

Yes I really really hope you're right Teresa. Adam & Matt for the finals! Matt was awesome last night! He and Adam were my favorites. If Matt keeps singing the right songs he will make it! If I were to choose a winner... I'd choose Matt.
Two people who started big were Danny & Lil... but Danny has done way better than Lil though... what happened to that girl? It's all about song choices. How many times do the judges have to say that just because you LIKE a song doesn't mean it's right for you to sing it. I think if Felicia would have gone though... she and Allison would be the top females. I only see Alison as a top female right now though...
Amy Somewhere in Time

Same here Carol...I think Allison is the top female too---not only does she pick better songs, she has better artistry than Lil (and no, I don't think Lil IS an artist, even though she says she is), and I think Allison has much better control over her voice. Lil really wavers sometimes in her lower range. Danny does too sometimes! They are not 'outstanding', you know? I want the finals to have outstanding singers---of course Adam is, and actually Matt is most definitely my fave but I am really pulling for Kris to get in there. I think Kris is amazing and he really has the artistry and control. Looks like he has a good fan-base too, considering he wasn't in the bottom 3 tonight after a bad song choice and singing early.
Time to vent:
This judges saves totally BITES. Sorry, no other way to say it. Leading poor Scott on to think he has a chance in heck?!?! What is the point?!?! Drama I tell you, all drama. They have to be kidding me if they think we are all so stupid as to believe that Kara & Paula honestly were vying for Scott's safety. These judges are professionals and they have ears and eyes. This is a guy who doesn't stand a shot at becoming the next AI, and all four of them know that. Fine, say that there are two people who want him to stay, but don't freaking drag it out so long, like you're really contemplating it for real. I think the judges think they must be good actors or something, when in reality they are so transparent it's not even funny. Yes, I am ticked off.....I hate seeing people's emotions being toyed with, and especially Scott's. Please tell me if you think I have it wrong...maybe I'm way off here but it just seems very cruel to me.

You know, I used to be totally devoted to the show but with the way they do things now, the people not starting from "scratch" like they used to, it lost a lot of credibility for me. And last year I think they had already decided who were going to be in the "final two" and that bothered me, too. I still watch it but not like I used to and I think I'm really jaded towards it now.

I like to think that the contestants are prepared for these little mind games. Maybe before the show Ryan tells them, "You know how we love our drama, so when I'm making it sound like something either good or bad is about to happen to you... be ready, because it probably isn't."

You may have a point there Rob...I hope they DO do that. In all fairness, that's the way it should be. Scott certainly seemed like he thought he had a glimmer of hope though. I guess I just don't like any of the contestants having to stand up there and practically grabble for the judges' save. If there was a possiblity of them staying, then I'd be all for them drawing out the pleading from the singers, but in Scott's case, I don't believe for a second any one of those judges had any intention of him staying. That's what's upsetting to me.
On another note, that has to be the worst song choice for a group number in the history of AI, IMO. Just awful!
Misti, I do understand where you're coming from. For me it's not enough to get me to stop watching or enjoying the show, but I do still get frustrated, that's for sure!

Totally agree with you on this! When they had Anoop, Lil & Scott on the chairs... Ryan asked if they would consider a save and Simon said they would consider it on one of them. I KNOW they meant Anoop... I don't think they would pick Scott over Anoop... so it DID look like maybe Scott was going to stay after all the drama from the judges. Why drag it out so long... my goodness... how much more time do they need to decide. Scott sounded horrible with his high note. He is just not american idol. I do admire him for being there and he does have some talent.. being blind and all but he just doesn't really stand out like a star. So yeah... I hate these "Judges Saves" rule.

Oh.....my.....gosh.... Awful...awful.....awful!!! I just had to grab my iPod and listen to the original version before the Idol version ruined the song for me! LOL My goodness!

What was the group song? I don't even remember...

Well, Amy knows what I call the group performances.
I agree with you Carol---Scott is not "AI" material...and I also agree that Simon was most likely talking about Anoop when he was mentioning saving one person in particular in the bottom 3. They have had very little to say about Scott lately, so why on earth would it be him?! Ugh, just hate the drama.
You know, I just think that whoever picked that group song must have been on drugs or something. Why....just---WHY???? I'm mean, it's mostly "La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la"...you get the picture. What the heck?! Truly, the poor Idols couldn't really do a thing with it. AND, on top of that, it really showcased how they do NOT blend well together. There are some strong, very unique voices---they're not exactly 'choral' voices, you know? For example, Danny stuck out like a sore thumb, and I think Allison did as well. Just horrible. And oddly enough, I don't think this one was lip-synched, and this is the one that probably should have been! LOL! I can't really tell though---what do you guys think?

Scott was on the Today show this morning and they said he has like 4 or 5 independent CD's out! What the heck?!
On another note, he has survived kidney failure several times, and now has had a successful transplant. He said it's a miracle to him every time he walks out onto that stage. He sure has been through the mill, poor guy. I'm glad he's ok now.
Oh, and ironically, his hair has never looked better than it did on the Today show this morning, LOL!

According to the Idol website, tonight's theme is "Songs of the Cinema." The mentor is Quentin Tarantino. That makes sense.

I Read on Yahoo News that Simon is thinking of Leaving American Idol now that would Ruin it all the Way and he also said something about a Contract i think this was the last year of the Contract or something so it might be the end for american IDol anyways
