My Mother has Cancer!

I have waited quite a while to post this as I was waiting for all of the details to come through before I posted. My mother has been feeling unwell for a few weeks and went to the dr last Friday. He ordered some tests, xray, blood work etc to be done. But she kept getting worse and so we took her to the ER last Monday. She had the tests done there and they found spots on her ovaries, lungs and in her stomach. She returned home from hospital today after having a biopsy yesterday. She will go the the cancer clinic on Thursday to find out how bad the cancer is and what course of treatment she will have and then the treatment begins on Friday. She will sick when she entered the hospital but after having a few days of iv meds she has felt fine ever since. She is feeling really good now but we all know that once she starts the chemo, that will change. Please pray for my mom. She is such a strong lady and we all believe that she can beat this.
I will keep you informed as to what is happening but please pray for my mom.
Pray also for me, I have so much to learn and a lot of stress is about to be heaped onto me. I hope that I can handle it.
Pray for my dad. He has memory loss and doesn't understand what is happening. He doesn't know about the C word. It's just better that he doesn't know.
God is good, He is in control.

I'M so sorry about your mother!

I'm so sorry to hear this Marilyn. I will keep you, your mom, and your dad in my thoughts.

So sorry Marilyn. Its so hard to hear Cancer has touched you when you get that final result but they will do what they can to make sure it doesn't get any further. Keep strong and keep praying. I sure will add you all to my prayers daily.

Oh Marilyn, I am so sorry. Your mom is so blessed to have your help as she goes through this journey. I'll be praying for your mom, and for you and your dad as well.

Tomorrow is the dreaded diagnosis day. I know that she has ovarian cancer, we just don't know how bad it is and where else it might be. Please pray for a treatable outcome, so that we have a fighting chance against it.
Right now she is in no pain but has no energy or appetite. She sleeps a lot but is happy and contented. Her stomach is beginning ti fill with liquid again but it isn't hurting her as it did last time. We have a nurse on the way to visit this afternoon to see what she can do to help her in the days ahead.
I am truly afraid. Pray for me as well. Mom is doing remarkably well, I'm a basketcase.

Prayers continue, Marilyn. I know it's tough right now, but lean on your faith. I'm guessing it's helpful that your mom has been so active and healthy all these years. That should help her fight. Hugs.

Marilyn, did you find anything out today? I've been thinking of you.

Mom went yesterday for her diagnosis. Her cancer is in many places, ovaries, bottom of lungs and possibly in the breasts. She had a chemo treatment this morning and the drs believe that the tumors will shrink for awhile with chemo but eventually she will succumb. We are hoping to buy any amount of time that we can. We will know in 3 weeks if today's treatment was helpful and if more treatments will follow. Pray that this happens. If it doesn't help, then mom will have 3-6 months. THAT scares me.

So sorry things are feeling so sad right now. I know how it feels to hear that diagnoses and how scary it is. I hope the chemo helps, and that she stays comfortable. You all are in my prayers.

I spent part of the day in the hospital with mom today. She had to go and have her belly drained of fluid. She was really uncomfortable and no wonder, wow. She's feeling wonderful right now but very tired. She will sleep well tonight.
