My Mother has Cancer!

Praying for you Marilyn. I know it's hard. You can do this.

Marilyn I think your mother would be proud of how strong you have been. I'm glad you are able to stay with your family right now, you are able to support each other. I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts.

I am home now and alone for the first time. My neighbour might come over and stay with me but the time will come when I will have to stay by myself, might as well start now.
I went to the low income housing lady today. Everyone told me that due to my circumstances, I would be bumped up the list so that I won't be left homeless. The lady there said that there are no emergency measures in our region, you have to wait your turn in order of applying. So I guess I have to get out there and look. Please pray that the Lord will send me in the right direction.

I hope you will be able to find a place you can afford & soon.

Marilyn, I've said it on facebook, but I want to mention it here too....I am so very sorry for your loss. As Kristina said, I think your mom would be so proud and amazed by how strong you have been, and the faith you have shown. She raised a wonderful daughter. You are in my prayers, dear Marilyn, that you will get through this, and that you will find affordable housing. Wish I could give you a hug in person.

I'm lonely in this house. I have one month to pack everything up and find a new place. I saw one today, it was too expensive and too small. I think I have my work cut out for me. Please keep praying, my friends.

You are always in my thoughts and prayers, Marilyn. Is living with your brother not an option for you? I just thought it might make things easier if you didn't need to rush right out and find something.

My brothers each live over half an hour away from me and they don't have room for me.

Amy, thank you for your prayers and thoughts. I have been having some difficult days but I am getting through them with the Lord's help. I have not found a new home yet and this is very distressing. I have to be out by the end of this month and I have a mountain of packing to do. I do have some help a few days a week but the other days I am on my own and I just don't have the energy to do it myself. But that mind set has to change because it HAS to get done. Please pray that I find affordable housing, which in itself is a big problem because I can't afford much. Also, pray that I get the packing done. I can't even get excited about a new start because of all the stress.
It all seems like a bad dream and a big problem with no answers. But God will get me through this as he always does, I just have to trust.

I'm really sorry you're going through all this, Marilyn. It's a shame that you have to move after losing your mom. I pray that you find a new place soon and that God sends peace and comfort your way.

No place yet, and I am feeling very frustrated. My church family do not really live anywhere near me, many of them live east and south of the church while I live north. Not being able to drive is a bummer because I need to be close to work.
I don't have a lot of financial resources and finding a place is proving to be almost impossible. When prospective owners hear that I work where I do, they know that I don't make very much and so they don't seem to want to rent to me. I can't win.
I have until the end of the month and then I'm sunk.

All of our church family is praying for you, Marilyn. I'm sorry there don't seem to be any easy solutions. None of your co-workers could help you?

Oh Marilyn, my heart goes out to you.  I'm sorry...you shouldn't have to be under this kind of stress during the kind of grief you are dealing with.  Are you still at the barista job?  Is it in a downtown area by chance?  Not sure if you are in a larger area or not...just thinking about where my aunt lives---she's in an older inexpensive apartment building downtown and she barely drives...keeping her centrally located like that helps to cut cost.  Just trying to think of ways you can be near work.  The apartment complex you're trying to get may be scared off about the lower income, but you can also assure them that you are not having to dish out $ for transportation costs, if you can place yourself in a setting like that?  Just a thought.  Another suggestion is maybe searching the paper or craigslist for anyone who may need a roommate?  That's a daunting possibility, I realize, but you can always meet with the person (take a friend though) and if you feel uncomfortable, then don't do it. Might be worth going that route though. Saying prayers for you daily.  Keep your chin up and, as hard as it it,  keep moving forward, Marilyn!  {{Hugs}}

My brother and I went out last Wed and saw one that was very nice. It was a one bedroom plus den in an apartment building on the same road as my job, about a 5 minute drive away. I thought that it was too expensive and worried about how I would pay for it for the lease time of a year. On Friday I talked to Tim on the phone and he convinced me that I could do it so he called about taking it but the lady said that it was rented, bummer.
Yesterday we went out again and saw some more but each of them had a problem with dogs. I am not giving up my 4 legged baby. She is the only warm body left living with me and I need her. We called this above mentioned apartment buildings to see if they had any 2 bedroom units and they told us that the 1 plus den was still available. We went back to see it, maybe it was a different one, but no, it was the same one. We got the application form and now I have to go to my bank and get everything together and beat everyone back to the building on Monday morning. It is first come first chance. The man who was showing it to us yesterday had more showings last night so I am anxious that I get it. Pray for me, it is nice.

Good News!! My life is finally headed in the right direction.
I went to the bank this morning, got the paperwork filled out there, got a Certified Cheque made out for first and last month's rent and the application for the unit completed. I took it all into the Supervisor's office and she looked at me wondering why I was there. She had told my brother that the apartment was rented as of last Friday. I asked her if she had any 2 bedrooms. She hummed and then said that she had a 1 bedroom plus den available in April. I would have to wait until the 8th so they could get in to fix and paint. So I told her that I would take it if I was approved.
Now I had the problem of where to live for March!! My brother called the landlady here and told her that I needed to stay longer and that was ok with her. She had planned to fix and paint in March so she will do it after I leave in April.
God is good. Thank you so much for your prayers.
And as a bonus, my cousin offered to help pay for my rent here. I also have to pay for Tim's van rental for next month and the money she is willing to give me will pay for the rent and part of the car! Wow, I'm blown away. God is REALLY GOOD.

Great news, Marilyn!!! Good things are ahead for you!

When I get my keys I am going to make a video of the apartment when its empty to show all of you. I am excited. I'm still sad that i have to leave here but excited about KNOWING what will happen next.
