| Marilyn, I am so sorry you've have been faced with all of this so quickly. This does show your strength though. You are so right that God is with you in it all. I will pray you will have even more strength and truly have some blessed time with your Mom. Thanks for keeping us posted. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| I have not been sleeping or eating well over the past weeks since mom was diagnosed on Sept 29. Today I called my dr and asked for some sleep help. I can go to sleep but wake up every hour of the night. I listen to sermons on cd, fall asleep to him talking and then wake up when he is done. (No, he's not a boring preacher, he is really amazing. I just need something to take my mind off of thinking.) My dr wants to see me and have a talk about all that is going on in my life. I am glad of this because I really need to talk to someone who can help me. Please pray for me as I go to see him on Friday at 11 am. | |

But mom is having a great day. Her sister came for a visit and they had a wonderful day. Marilyn, I'm sooo sorry you are going through this DARK time. I can relate to what you are feeling right now and it will get darker before it gets easier... just take it one day at a time. Please reach out to any family members for help as you really will need some support in the days ahead. I will pray very much for God to give you strength as this will not be easy to watch. But you will survive through this... if you need to cry... cry... you need to release that emotion. Get a strong hold on your faith and in the fact that your mom will go through a tough time, pass away but then you WILL see her again. It is really painful I know Marilyn... I wish I was there to hug you tight in person Stay strong my dear friend as you go through this dark storm. We are all there with you. You are not alone.

| My mother is having surgery on Friday to implant a tube into her stomach that will allow a nurse to drain the fluids whenever mom wants it drained. There will be no more chemo so the fluids will always come and so this will be easier for mom. Please pray for us during the Christmas season. We do not know if she will even make it to December 25th. The drs have not given us a life expectancy and that is ok with me, I don't want to know. I just want to enjoy each day that we have together. If I knew how long there was, it would just drive me crazy. As it it, I am always a little sad at the end of every day, one less day. Please pray that she is here for Christmas. I know that it will be the last, I just hope that we have this one. She is still in no pain, in amazing spirits. She is my hero. God is good. | |

| Thanks ladies. I know that if she does go Home for Christmas, she will be at two birthday parties, one for Jesus and one for her oldest sister who died 18 months ago. But I can't bear the thought of Christmas with out her. | |

| {{{{HUGS}}}} I'm so sorry that you're all going through this, Marilyn, but so very thankful that your mom isn't in pain, and that she's in good spirits. You both continue to be in my prayers, especially with Christmas coming up so quickly. | |

| Mom had her surgery today. They didn't put her out, just numbed the area and inserted the tube. She has felt no pain all day. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS LADY! She has a hospital bed in the living room and has gotten out of it twice with no help from me. She moves as well as she did before the surgery and feels no pain, weird maybe but I think it is a blessing from the good Lord. Tomorrow the nurse will arrive to take the fluids out so we will see how that goes. And for fun, we will be decorating the house for Christmas, looking forward to some good memories after so many bad ones lately. | |

| Yes, she is in very good spirits. If it weren't for a lack of energy and swollen body parts, you would never know that there was anything wrong with her. | |

| On Wednesday we got a call to say that a place was available for my dad to enter a long term care facility, aka nursing home. Today my brothers and I took him there. I thought that it would be a very difficult day but God was in control and dad was ok with it. We had a tour, did paperwork and he had a visit from the welcoming committee. After an hour or so he asked if he was staying there. I said yes, because mom wasn't feeling well and needed a rest. He agreed and was fine with that answer. He is a very easy going guy and easy to instruct so that is a blessing. We left him as he was having lunch and told him to have fun with his new group of friends. He said he would and I know that he will enjoy all of the activities there, my dad is a very socialable dude. My biggest worry is that he will get confused and wander during the night as he gets up and goes to the bathroom. Then tomorrow he might now remember what is going on so I worry that he will feel abandoned. Please pray for him, his name is Cameron. | |

| Praying for your dad, Marilyn. If the nursing homes there are anything like the ones around here, he should do fine. Nursing homes are far different from the places they were when I was a kid. Back then, they were just places where people waited to die. Now, they seem to go out of their way to give the residents the best possible quality of life they can.
I had an elderly neighbor who went into a home, and after about a week I visited her and asked if she was happy there. She said, "No, but this is my life now, so I have to make the best of it." A couple weeks later, I swear, she wouldn't have gone home even if she could have! She was very sociable, just like your dad, and she'd made a lot of friends, and she loved the activities, the staff, the food, and pretty much everything about the place.
I'll be praying the same thing happens to your dad.

| SO glad things are going so well Marilyn. You are such a trooper yourself with so much change coming your way. I can see you parents have such a sweet daughter! They have so many activities for the elderly now. They want to keep their minds sharp and as active as possible. I am sure HE will give them as much as they give to him. God has his hand on your special family be sure of that! It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are.
